I press my finger to my lips, attempting to silence Lobo, but the man refuses to shut up. He is listing the Dark Creatures he plans on killing on his fingers when she bursts through the door. Bruno is right behind her. Naked. He must have had to shift to keep up with her. She is getting better at flying. The thought both makes me terrified and proud.

She rolled her eyes. "Our future Luna..." She hesitated for a second. "She's also my best friend." I arched my brows at her, feeling more than a little impressed by her. "Wow! That's cold..." She shrugged. "They're mates?" She turned her head toward the party again and sighed heavily. She looked so hopeless... so pathetic. I loved every minute of her dispair. "Yes... but she doesn't deserve him." I turned my own gaze at the party again. Grace and Rhyder were spinning around and around, their hands clasped together. Their cheeks were flushed with joy and they were laughing happily.

She arched her hips towards him receiving all he was letting out in her. His voice cracked as he whispered fiercely into her ear, “You’ve given me everything, Maddie. Everything.” Darcus chuckled deeply. He slipped an arm around Lucinda’s waist and pulled her close. “Looks like Marcus has beaten me to it,” he teased, his eyes glinting with mischief. Then, louder, so all could hear, he said, “Don’t worry, my Luna, I’ll put a child in you soon enough.” The hall erupted in laughter, whistles, and claps. Lucinda’s face burned, her jaw dropping in embarrassment as she smacked Darcus’s arm lightly. “Darcus!” she hissed, though her own laugh betrayed her happiness.

Just as he was coming out of the elevator a call came in, from Luna Lee. "What are you doing, you bitch!" Lucas snapped without further ado. There was a faint crackling on the other side of the phone. "Aw~ why are you so angry, Dear? I'm just sending a special gift to Emma Robbie. Did she like it? Let me guess, I think not... Ha ha!" Reflex, Lucas stopped walking and punched the wall beside him. "Shut the fuck up, you bitch! You're completely..." his jaw twitched until he was unable to continue. Also, his face was red and the veins bulge out like they were about to burst.

Beta Lyra smiled with trembling lips and teary eyes holding back sadness. “I will talk to Alpha about it and accompany you because I miss Luna too.” Beta Lyra spoke with shame at the end of the sentence. It was okay that Beta Lyra came with us. I needed to find a way to talk to Beta Caleb, Gamma Gabriel, and Delta Vanessa.

A long stretch of silence descends, whereby Lucas and Damian engage in a stare-off. “Well, I don't know what you want me to say, Lucas.” “I want you to choose someone else.” Lucas instantly responded. “Someone more appealing and presentable to the court.” “Unfortunately, it's too late for that. I've made up my mind, and I'm not changing it.” Damian came close to me. “Aviana is going to be my Luna, and that's final.” Lucas turned to face me like I could change Damian's mind. “This is not going to bode well for you, Lady Aviana.” That was all he said before spinning around on his feet and walking out.
