The others let out a collective sigh, clearly relieved to have reached this point. I glared at each of them, their tired expressions weighing heavily on my heart. It was clear that they were all in desperate need of rest. We had been going non-stop since the crack of dawn, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for pushing them so hard. "Are you all tired? Or hungry?" I asked, my voice filled with concern, even though I already knew the answer. The exhaustion was written all over their faces. "We're not tired, we're just... curious about Lia," Luis replied, his voice tinged with worry. I nodded, understanding their unease. Lia's condition had us all on edge.

Nimu tapped my shoulder with a shaking hand. He looked even feebler than usual. I scrunched my nose and grabbed his hand before he could leave. “Are you alright? Do you want me to look at you?” “Quite right, Fidem. Just a little tired. I’m old, and my energy is not the same as when I was young.” I had never heard him say he was tired before. He didn’t look like he was anywhere close to being fatigued. Well, no surprises there. The guy’s built like a machine. But me? I was still recovering and healing from the lacerations the Lycan King had gifted me so I concluded it was what made me weak.

Luca’s POV I wake up feeling utterly drained, my body heavy with fatigue and my heart weighed down with sorrow. I lie there for a moment, staring blankly at the ceiling, wishing I could sleep for just a little longer, if only to avoid facing the reality of today. The exhaustion isn’t just physical. It’s emotional. Mental. It’s like I’ve been running a marathon in my heart for five years, and now that I’ve collapsed, no one’s there to catch me.

Arisa placed her hands on my arm. "I told you! Mark is strong!" Liz exclaimed proudly. "He was still knocked out for half the day!!" Half of the day? Dang. Even though I have been lying down for so long I feel so sleepy. I felt Arisa slightly tighten her grip on my arm. Forcing some energy into my other arm, I managed to cover her hands with mine. I heard a small intake of air. I felt the right side of my mouth curve up, it was the closest I could come to a smile at the moment.

When she realized nothing was out of place, she breathed relief. "You must be feeling tired, right?" At her question, Jade was now very confused. What the hell was going on? "Indeed" She was feeling tired, of course, she had walked home from the school. She had done the same in the morning but she wasn't as tired as in the afternoon. It seemed it was because she was very happy this morning and was Ultra happy in the afternoon and it drained her energy. She had planned to beat up Lance but settled with only flipping him, if he does it once more than he'll be beaten to almost death.

Lucien asked, his hand instantly reaching for me. I nodded, forcing a small smile. I felt exhausted, every nerve in my body frayed, but I didn't want to burden him with such a minor issue. He looked like he was carrying the weight of the entire world on his shoulders, his face drawn and weary. "Yeah, just dizzy from the trip," I said. He nodded back in understanding, but I could see the flash of concern in his eyes. He wasn't entirely buying it, but he was too tired to push for more.
