I sit up slowly, clutching the blanket around me like I’ve been dropped into a winter survival scenario. The loft is bright — too bright — with natural light pouring through the massive windows. Luke’s kitchen looks like something out of a magazine, all dark marble and matte black appliances. And right in the middle of it is him.
He stands barefoot in grey sweatpants and a black T-shirt, stirring something in a pan. His hair is messy, curls falling onto his forehead. He looks soft. Human. He looks… comfortable.
