The Lycans and Werewolves are two different species of wolf man but they carry a common past. The ancient legends speak of a king named Licaon who lived in Greece, southern Europe, more precisely in the city of Arcadiae who would have been cursed by Zeus for committing unholy and cruel acts. It is said that he was a sadist, who murdered the visitors of his castle and used to serve his meat to guests at the dining table.

Looking up I saw the Lycan king was holding the door open for me while one of his hands was extended for me to take. This was the first time I am looking at his face and not just his face I am looking at him. He looked like someone carved him out of a stone. He is tanned with sharp and defined jaws his eyes are the colour of Amber. He looked nothing less than a god but he looked kind of scary just like we have all heard about him, a ruthless killing machine. I stared at him before I got out of the car avoiding his hand. I wasn't interested in his help in any way he had done more than enough.

I ignore his attempt to talk to me and focus on the Goddess in front of me. “And you are?” - I ask extending my hand towards her (I need to feel her skin on mine). I can feel her body shaking, and I see her looking at him waiting for a signal to talk (I am definitely going to kill him) and he gives her a nod and she grabs my hand saying “Liv, I mean, Olivia Lockwood” “Lockwood, are you related to Trent Lockwood?” (He was my friend and I took over his pack when he was killed, how didn't I know about her existence?

I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. The truth was right there, but fear tightened around my throat and swallowed it whole. And Damien… He hadn’t looked away once. Some believe we were the first generation of Werewolves cursed by Zeus for trying to trick him into turning into a cannibal. Others believe that we were direct descendants of Selene, the goddess of the moon, the granddaughter of the primordial parents, Gala (mother earth) and Uranus (father sky).

Have you ever heard of the word lycanthrope?” he asked, looking at me expectantly and I shook my head, motioning that the word means nothing to me. “it’s a Greek mythical creature most commonly know in modern times as the werewolf” he explained with all determination and if he didn’t have a façade of all seriousness on his face, I would assume he was mocking me.

He serves human meat to his guest, who unfortunately turns out to be the god Jupiter. Jupiter immediately recognizes the meat's origin, and he transforms Lycaon into a wolf. Lycaon's name and the word lycanthropy both come from the same root -- the Greek word lykos, meaning wolf.

It is said that they were men born from the breath of gods, they had different powers and lived in another realm, they coexisted peacefully and were ruled by the Lycans, those were the creatures that found favor in the eyes of the goddess, so they said. but a greater evil was cast upon them by jealousy and hate and their world fall into the abyss of ruin, the only hope was the prophecy which the supernatural creatures had no belief in.
