Ava

I cried my heart out in silence, placing both of my hands on my ears. But still it didn't block the sound I didn't want to hear. The sound of fighting and killing.

“ Hide, baby girl,” the words of my mother echoed in my mind.

“ Run. And find alpha stay with him. He will protect you,” she said before she pushed me to the emergency hole that both of my parents created for a situation like this.

My heart pounded like the rumbling thunder outside as I witnessed my mother fight the rouge off of my father before they were attacked by more of them.

It didn't take them a long time before they killed both of my parents.

“ Ava. My strong girl,"I Heard my mother whisper but her lips were sealed and they smiled before groaning in pain.

I could clearly see through the white lining that hid me well under the table. I sat there shivering in horror as I saw life from their eyes vanishing.

“ Is there anyone alive here?” One of them said shifting back into his human form. his voice sounded more like a sarcasm.

“ no. We searched the whole place, there's no one,” another one said. I couldn't see their faces.

“ Where is the girl?” The First one spoke.

His words made me realise that this isn't a normal rogue attack. This was all planned. And they came for me when most of our pack members were gone to the ceremony to the Lycan Kingdom.

If my mother wouldn't seal this place they would have sensed me a long time ago.

“ K, alpha is approaching,” someone said and they all began to panic.

“ I will find you princess,” the first one said before sniffing the air. I saw him shifting before running away into the tree line that leads to forest.

My eyes drifted and landed on the two bodies which were lying lifelessly in a pool of blood. I couldn't cry anymore nor did I have the energy to move. I didn't know how long I sat there but the scream of the luna brought me back to reality.

“ Ava,” she said, looking at the alpha and her son's as her eyes went wide. I have never seen her so weak and helpless as she looked at my parents body.

Knowing I was safe now I came out of my hiding spot. And crawl out from under the table.

“ Luna,” I whispered.

She gasped surprisingly as she turned around. I saw relief washed over her and she came walking to me before embracing me in a tight hug.

“ Baby, I was so worried,” she said, in between her sobs. Although my heart was in pain, I couldn't cry, I wanted to scream but I couldn't do so. All I want right now is to see all of them torn into pieces after I feed them with wolfsbane.

“ They killed them in front of me,” I said.

“ We haven't found…… they trailed off as they descended from the stairs.

Pulling away, Luna Abigail looked at me and I saw something in her eyes which I couldn't understand.

“ You are coming with me Ava,” she said.

Ok“ Where?”

“ To the pack house, darling. You will live with us from now on," Alpha said.

“ ok,” I agreed with them. I have to live for my parents, I said to myself.

I gasped, as I sat up on the bed from the sound of someone bangung on the door.

“ Ava,” Luna Abigail yelled from the other side of the door.

“ Come down, it's time to train,” she said before walking away.

Looking at the clock I sighed and got out of the bed. I went straight into the bathroom to get ready for training. And I am thankful enough to Luna for calling me whenever I am late. No one will ever believe me if I told them that Luna of the blue moon pack calls me for training.

I did my morning routine in a hurry and wore a sports bra with a pair of shorts before I went out.

For the past 11 years Luna and Alpha were kind to me and always treated me like their daughter. I am grateful to both of them as they agreed to train me personally when I told them I wanted to protect myself.

I ran through the hallway to the living room and stopped in my tracks looking at everyone present there.

“ Why? What are you all doing here?” I asked.

“ Happy Birthday, dear,” Luna Abigail said from behind. Turning around I saw her coming out of the kitchen with a cake.

“ But-

“ Yes I know. I couldn't wait until 12,” she said and. She is one of the persons in my life that I admire the most.

“ Thank you,” I said , smiling at her through my unshed tears.

“ But we are getting late for the training,” the alpha said, earning a growl of warning from Luna Abigail.

“ What?” Alpha Max said as he scoffed at me. He has always been that way since the beginning and it doesn't bother me any more. He is always cruel to me unlike his younger brother , who is nothing but kind to me.

“ There will be no training today,” the former alpha Alexandre said. Although he gave the title of the alpha to his son, he still does his duty because Max couldn't find his fated mate.

“ Just great,” he said walking away.

“ Outsider,” he said through the link. It took me by surprise because it is the first time since he linked me.

“ Ignore him,” Zade said. I looked at him only to see he was already looking at me. I don't why but it always makes me nervous. He is insanely handsome and a nice build with strong features.

“ Thank you, Alpha, luna. And I mean it.”

“ Whatever you did for the past 11 years, it means a lot to me. If you didn't take me in and support me, I don't know how long I would have survived,"I said.

“ Ava, even though I didn't give birth to you, you are still my daughter and we did what any parents would do for their kids,” she said. I hugged her tightly sobbing like a kid. I can only imagine my mother through her if she was still alive.

“ Shh. We have enough for today,” she said, pulling away and wiping my tears with her thumbs. I smiled nodding my head at her.

“ Now, go shopping and buy whatever you want, do whatever your heart wants, just enjoy the day,” Alpha Alexandre said.

“ Oh, I will be your personal chauffeur then,” Zade said, coming forward as he offered a hand for me to hold. I giggled like a little girl before holding his hand. I could feel the butterflies rolling inside of my tummy.

“ I need to change my clothes, wait here,” I said and went to my room which was upstairs. Walking in my closet I picked the lavender wrap up dress which ends just above my knees. After wearing the dress I let my hair loose and did a touch up. I looked at myself in the mirror after applying the cherry lip tint. Grabbing my white sneakers I went out and quickly wore it before I ran downstairs.

“ You are looking beautiful,'' Alpha said, making blush. Luna didn't say anything and just gave me a warm smile.

Turning around I walked to a very shocked who had been looking at me as if he saw me for the very first time. Smiling at him, I cleared my throat.

“ Shall we?” he said, bowing like a gentleman that he is.

“ We shall.” I said placing my hand on his. He smiled before leading us both outside through the front door.

“ I am waiting for the news,” Luna Abigail yelled, which made us laugh. We both knew what she was referring to. She is quite excited for me to find my mate. And I am nervous because tonight will be my first shift.

“ What is it?” Zade asked out of the blue.

“ Huh.”

I looked at him only to realise that he had been standing there holding the door of the car open for me to get in.

“ This,” he said, lifting up the hand I was holding a bit too tightly.

“ Oh, um. I am really sorry,"I said, releasing his hand, only for him to grab mine.

“ What is it that you are worried about?” He asked, looking into my eyes.

“ I don't know, maybe because tonight I will shift,” I said only half of what I was nervous about.

“ I will help you,” I said as he lifted my hand before surprisingly kissing me on the back.

“ You can count on me, Ava,” he said as his hand snaked around my waist and pulled me to him.

“ We should get going,” I said , clearing my throat when I saw a few omegas passing by.

“ Absolutely, queen,” he said and bowed his head a little. Rolling my eyes I got in, but a smile of happiness made its way on my lips. Just when I was about to look away my eyes fell on the figure who was watching me since I don't know how long.

I saw Max looking at me like he was going to devour me whole. But there's something in his eyes too soft which is so foreign for me to see in him.

“ Come back soon,” Max said through the link before he walked away from the window of his office.

As the engine hit the road, I looked out of the window. It looked like the weather was going to change. And I have a feeling it will change many lives too.
