Lyla nodded absentmindedly. “I’ll drive you home,” Lucas smiled, guiding her toward the parking lot. Lyla worked in Westhaven, a small town named after the university itself. It was three hours from the city where she attended her PhD program, offering a quiet escape from the chaos she’d grown tired of—and perhaps, a chance to forget him. She had rented a small apartment near the campus, and Lucas, having been there before to drop off medicine for her, navigated easily to the parking lot. The snow had started again, tiny flakes swirling in the air like dust disturbing the still night.

The next three days passed in a blur of careful observation and meticulous note-taking. Lyra moved through the pack house like a ghost, watching, listening, cataloging every detail that might prove useful later. She attended pack meetings and smiled at the right moments, nodded when expected, played the role of dutiful Luna while her mind worked constantly beneath the surface.

“Sure Ms. Parker, hope to cooperate with you well ” The room went silence as their various make up artist does their makeup. “This way, Ms. Parker ” Lylla's manager leads her to the photo booth. “Wait let me call someone ” Lylla stops and goes to the nearest corner and calls her dad. “My sweetheart, what is it?” “Dad! Why is Alexa not dead?!” Quietness came upon the other side. Parker Andrew was surprised himself. “Calm down and tell me what happened ” “She is right here!” Lylla walks around and taps her heels on the glass floor impatiently while waiting for her dad's response.
