Lyra Rogers Novels & Stories

Powerful muscles shifted beneath scarred skin as he slowly turned toward me — not startled, not scrambling, but turning the way a man turns when he already knows exactly who's standing in the doorway. Those hands. The same hands that had steadied me through twenty hours of labor. The same hands that had sworn before the Moon Goddess to protect me. Now they were tangled in another woman's blonde hair. Lyra. A low-ranking wolf from the outer borders. A girl I had personally ensured received extra winter rations when her family struggled through winter. The irony made me sick.

I asked, my voice a little stronger now, as I leaned forward in my seat, my eyes locked on Jayven's. He took a deep breath before launching into an explanation. "Lyra came to me, telling me that you were working with some rogues. She claimed she was there to spy on you, but I'm not sure I believe her." My mind reeled as I processed the information. Lyra, working with rogues? It didn't make sense. I felt a mix of emotions: shock, confusion, and a growing sense of anger.

As she struggled to get out of their grips. "Who are you and what do you want? ” I barked. The girl seemed scared and helpless.” I’m Edriana Rose, witch of the sorceress’ circle, forced to become Rouge. ” she concluded. I looked at her, cuts and bruises were visible in her skin. She looked pale and starved. She must have been abused. "Penelope, get her treated and then bring her to me in my office,” I Said. She nodded and quickly took this Edriana wherever it was she was going.

My features shifted, returning to their normal state. Gasps echoed across the ruins. I looked so much like Sienna—the same dark hair, the same facial shape. But my eyes, once ruby red like hers, now glowed with evil black power. "Yes," I said, loving their shock. "I am Lyra Storm. Last Ruby Wolf of my generation. Mother to the twins who will help me reshape this world." Inside the circle of stones, I could feel the Trial of Power unfolding in another world. My daughter was facing the Guardian now. Soon, she would emerge, filled with the power I needed to finish my work.

We must exercise caution. Suddenly, a rustling in the underbrush caught their attention. Kyra and Damon drew their weapons, their senses on high alert. A figure emerged from the shadows, and Kyra's heart skipped a beat. It was a young woman, clearly frightened and disheveled. She held up her hands in a gesture of surrender. "Please, don't hurt me. I'm not one of them." Kyra stepped forward hesitantly. "Who are you?" The female inhaled deeply. "Lyla is my name. Even though the rogues took me, I was able to get away. They have a major attack on your pack planned." Kyra's thoughts were racing. "When? What is the number of them?"

My chest tightened, but I refused to let her see me break. “Those cancelled ceremonies?” Lyra continued, her eyes gleaming with mischief. “Every single one was my plan. The ‘rogue attack’ that was just me getting lost in the woods? I knew exactly where I was. The suicide threat? Please. I was never going to actually do anything. And this—” she placed both hands on her belly, “—this was the final piece.” “You’re insane,” I whispered. “No, I’m smart,” she corrected. “Now all I have to do is cry, and he will drop everything. Including you.”

The kind that said a piece had just moved on a board he’d assumed was fixed. “You want to know who I am?” she asked. “Fine. Let me be clear, on the record, where your stenographers and your future historians can’t pretend I whispered it. “I am Lyra Hale. I am a surgeon. I am a wolf. I am the mother of a pup. You would happily turn into a political pawn if I let you. I am the woman Aiden Voss broke when he chose your crown over our bond—and the one who learned to set her own bones after that.”

I should have known better. What the fuck was I thinking? Lyra was basically a slave; a tribute girl who had been forced to come here and prove she was the True Queen… she wasn’t the True Queen. She was Lyra… my personal attendant. If she weren’t my attendant, she would be in the slaves’ quarters right now. The only thing I truly knew was that when she was around, my dragon didn’t go on a killing spree. Not to mention, the pain was less. I watched her be my attendant for the last several days; she was clumsy… she made stupid mistakes and nearly broke every valuable item in my study.

She didn’t kneel. She asked. Her name was Lyra, and she was barely eighteen—newly shifted, wolf still unsure of her own bones. She stood at the edge of the camp at dawn, hands shaking, eyes red from sleepless nights. “I don’t want to disappear,” she said. The words landed harder than any threat. Ronan stepped forward instinctively, but she shook her head. “Not you,” Lyra said softly. Her gaze fixed on me. “Her.”

“And I know that the rogues that you have come across are total assholes or undeserving of even breathing but not all rogues are like that.” “What are other rogues like then?” Ezekiel was trying to control his irritation. She had just woken up and they needn’t start another argument just yet. He quickly mind-linked Hunter to get the pack doctor, Sabrina Meyers and announce to the pack that their Luna was up.
