His hands were raised and they were tipped with sharp claws. “You!” I reared back, throwing my hands up. “Hedy!” Claire growled. She turned into the vampire and punched her hand through his chest. He choked and slumped against her as she forced his head to the side and drank from him. I heard her sucking his blood and watched him start to turn to ash.

The sentinels exchanged glances, unsure of how to respond. Just then, a figure emerged from the shadows behind the sentinels. It was Aradmus, the vampire lord, who had sensed the intrusion. His piercing gaze locked onto Veronica, and a sly grin spread across his face. "Well, well, what do we have here?" he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "A brave werewolf is trespassing in my domain. How delightful." Veronica knew she had to choose her words carefully. "I have no quarrel with you," she replied, her voice unwavering. "I am here for my husband, and I won't leave without him."

Dmitri felt his muscles burn as he charged closer to her, shifting into his Lycan form, his teeth bared in a snarl. Max soon followed, turning into his wolf form and prowled around Madeline like prey. Sara stood a few feet behind them as they circled Madeline, avoiding her attacks as they got closer.
