Hayley said, wrenching her hand free of her hold. “Oh, don’t you know? I’m Madison Parker, his everything. Don’t get your hopes up just because he kissed you once,” gritted out Madison, fuming with anger. Hayley snickered at the crazy woman. “If you were his everything, you would have known where he is,” she said, walking away but Madison grabbed her by the neck and shoved her against the wall. The other women shrieked with fear, eager to escape from the washroom. Hayley struggled against her hold. There was a brutal strength in the woman, which she hadn’t guessed initially. She wasn’t afraid of anyone, but Madison didn’t look normal. She was an obsessed woman who couldn’t be trusted.

My pulse races in excitement when I see the message from my mate. 'Are you awake?' My lips curve before I realize it. I sit on the edge of the bed, the towel still around my waist as I type back: 'Couldn’t sleep. You?' The typing bubble appears almost immediately, and I find myself watching it like it’s the most important thing in the world. 'Me neither. I just wish you were here. I feel safer with you.' She's probably wary about having both a werewolf and a vampire in the same room with her. Bellamy had mentioned the female vampire who fought for her, and when Aaron’s background check came out clean, I’d been relieved.

AZALEA’S POV The intruder’s blood-red eyes locked onto me like I was already dead. The air turned freezing cold in a heartbeat. Edwin moved faster than I could process. He shoved me behind his body, one arm stretched out like a shield. “Don’t move.” Sorin was already on his feet, fangs bared, looking ready to tear the guy apart. “King’s lapdog. You picked the wrong house.” The stranger laughed, low and mocking. “The hybrid stinks of wolf blood. Dracula sends his regards, Guardian. Hand the girl over and I’ll make your death quick.”

THIRD PERSON POV He crouched low, hidden in the shrubs along the front garden, eyes locked on her through the dim, filtered moonlight. Thalia Redfield, the Omega of the Nightshades Pack, was standing inside the mansion, visible just past the wide, glass doors. She was ethereal, almost otherworldly, her long brown hair falling softly past her shoulders, framing a delicate, slender frame. A beauty laced with sorrow and strength; anyone could see she’d lived through storms. She carried the grace of someone who had seen too much, and yet, here she was, holding herself with quiet dignity.

He’s a werewolf and a dangerous one at that. Gordon notices me as soon as he looks up from one of the blonde’s open shirts. It’s probably one he unbuttoned on the ride up in the mirrored elevator. She’s a pretty girl, but noticeably a ‘working girl’. Her facial makeup makes her seem older. She sees the gun and pulls herself away almost instantly. The other girl isn’t so lucky. Gordon grabs her as soon as her eyes meet mine. He holds her in front of himself so that Caleb can’t get his shot. He is almost the same height as her, so it’s a crafty move.

I initially thought my teammates would welcome me, and my wife would hug me, but instead, the vehicle's door was firmly locked. Roars belonging to high-tier zombies came from every direction. Overhead, micro drones trained their cams on me, showing the camp's survivors how wounded and in despair I was. Wade Carter, Jasmine Cole's male best friend, was a useless bum who couldn't muster the guts to kill even a single, regular zombie even though it'd been three years since the apocalypse.

Madison said as she pressed her fingers on her forehead. Madison used her telepathy to probe the minds of the witch hunters, forcibly taking the information that she seeks from their consciousness. As the witch hunters screamed in agony, Madison continued probing their minds until she had found what she needed from them.

Salem I jumped up, and I found myself in a strange room. "Lay back down; your body is still weak," a strange lady who seemed the same age as Madison said to me as she tried to gently push me back to lie down. "Who are you, and where are I?" I asked, scared. "I'm Marcy, and you're at the alpha's home," she retorted. I laid back down instantly in pain. "I want Madison," I told her.

I thought she was a drug addict, I expected her to be dead by now. "I have nowhere to go, I've been to rehab and I'm a better woman now but I lost the house after..." she trails off. "There's a hotel three miles down the road," I say bluntly and I hear Mason come into the entrance hall. I turn my head and he smiles at my mother as he stands beside me in the doorway. "Hello," he says respectfully and my mother looks at me. "Who's this Damon?" She asks me and I feel myself getting even more agitated.
