You cant help that you’re a prying twat.”, she snapped at him dead pan. David our Beta burst out laughing and everyone else seemed to appreciate the break in tension.

He peers into my room as the nurses drag me out and carry me to one of the day rooms. The sunroom. All windows. Littered with board games and art supplies. “Stay here,” one nurse says, dropping me onto a cushioned wicker sofa. Another places tea and scones on a table beside me. “She never comes in here,” Hank says, following us. If I saw Hank on a TV show, I imagine he’d be my favourite. I think I’d find him too unhinged to take seriously, and I’d find him funny. I cope by pretending this is a show. A comedy. Nothing will hurt anyone. In reality, he’s my nightmare and I’m in hell.

Hank instantly let go of Amora and dodged the assault, but he didn’t let her out of his sight. “Who the hell are you?! How dare you touch our Young Madam!” Albert shouted angrily. Hank didn’t respond. His gun had been knocked away during the scuffle, so he lunged at Albert barehanded. "Then I'll buy you a life-sized statue of a flamingo," he replied without missing a beat. "And I'll even help you find the perfect spot for it in the garden. Though, I draw the line at pink flamingos. Only silver or gold for my woman." Marceline's laughter grew and the sound was music to his ears. Their preamble directed the foreigners’ attention to Zayn, which only served to highlight just how petite and lanky the young man was. There was not a shred of majesty or power in the way Zayn carried himself, so it did not take the foreigners long before they s
