The barrier she kept in place was enough to keep people out but when it came to heavenly tribulation, it still hit the orb. The orb shattered in a few places so she was very worried. The color of the orb changed right before her eyes and the cracks began to heal. A black magic circle appeared below the orb and Madaline’s eyes widened because she could recognize the characters in the circle. {How……how could this be?!}

She indeed had the means. Soon, the water-repelling orb's light faded, rendering it useless. "Activate!" Orabella commanded softly. Her scepter emitted a bright glow, releasing energy that formed a protective shield around them both.

“These are used to determine a mage’s aptitude for magic.” He went under one of the wide trunks and reached out to a low hanging red orb. It looked like a small upside-down fish bowl. As soon as Damien touched it, it began to glow faintly and give a sweet tinkling sound. “Red is the most resistant.” said the groundskeeper. “Purple comes next, then blue, green, yellow and orange as the most sensitive to magic.” he went over to an orange orb and breathed on it. The orb gave a high pitched tinkle, a small web-like crack forming around it. “As you can see, even a little magic can easily break it.”

He continued to gain distance on me and I knew I only had one option at this point and that was to hit him as hard as I could with the orb of electricity and make a run for it. Putting a little more juice into the orb I threw it at him as hard as I could and was just about to turn to make a run for it when I froze to the sight before me. Instead of the orb hitting him and capacitating him, he caught it and began to absorb the magic from it, as his eyes now began to glow a piercing red that almost blinded you when you looked at them. I raised my hand to my eyes to shield them from the blinding blaze of light shining my way.

THE LESSONS BEGIN The Oracle nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Then let us begin," she said, her voice dripping with an otherworldly authority. With a wave of her hand, the Oracle summoned a small, glowing orb. It hovered in the air before Maya, pulsing with an soft, blue light. "This is a focus stone," the Oracle explained. "It will help you to harness your powers and control them." Maya reached out a hand, hesitantly, and touched the stone. As soon as she did, she felt a surge of energy run through her body.

A high-pitched hum echoed inside my head, making the stone walls vibrate wildly. Above the cup and the ancient chest, the three liquids and the life essence began floating up into the air. The red fire, blue water, glowing white ice, and deep earth elements twisted around each other like tiny, intertwining dragons. They melted together, blending and transforming in a blinding flash of light. As the light slowly died down, my eyes went wide in pure amazement. A stunning magic orb was now hovering gracefully in mid-air. It spun slowly, glowing with a shimmering rainbow of colors around a warm, pure gold core.

Her voice dripped with dark amusement as she gestured to the orb, which now pulsed with a foreboding, deadly glow. With a final, mocking smile, she raised her hand, the orb floating toward us. I’m so tired of magic at this point but it seems like that is the only thing that can save my daughter. “Let the game begin,” she whispered, and then the world plunged into darkness.
