The grin on my face morphed into something malice. It wasn't a snarl. It was something more terrifying, "If you hurt her I'll kill you myself and I know just enough ways to make it a painful experience. And if I grow tired, Ace won't mind taking over from me."
"I bet," Mark Chambers' sneered, "I thought you were smarter than this Miranda but here you are, a little girl thinking she can tame a monster."
"Tame?" I didn't bother holding back my laugh, "That's the last thing I want to do," I responded, stone-faced as I grabbed my purse from Tory's lap and fished out my phone.
