Chapter 3: Let It Go Not sure enough credit is given to the serene city of Phoenix. I mean sure, it wasn't the richest city, but it wasn’t the poorest. It wasn't the most beautiful, but it wasn't the ugliest either. It was just... there, I guess. But at the same time, it felt so peaceful. So loud yet so quiet. So, exhilarating yet calming at the same time. It was during afternoon drives like this, one really appreciated the little things this peaceful city joyously gave, but from the look on Marcus's face, the city could burn down to its very last atom for all he cared.

"That's impossible," I whispered. No demon beast, no matter how powerful, should have been able to breach it. Not unless…there was a traitor. Franz and I rushed out. The clan was in chaos. High-level demon beasts had invaded. A fledgling Phoenix, barely ten, was pinned beneath the foot of a boar-beast. She was moments from death.

It was pure chaos, but Marco couldn’t help but love it. Christmas break came and went in the blink of an eye. Marco and Sade had fallen back into their old routine, no more secrets, no more lies. But there was still work to be done. Marco had to head out to Valparaiso, Indiana, to monitor a store. Normally, he might’ve invited Isla to meet him there, but that thought never even crossed his mind. He was done. That chapter was closed. But fate had a funny way of testing him.

So it didn't take long for me to find the feeds I needed. I watched the camera in the lobby to see who went in and out of the building. I saw Damian enter the lobby and walk straight towards the elevators. I hadn't seen anyone enter the lobby previously, so I wasn't sure what I was really looking for. "SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" Jace started shouting. Before I could even understand what was going on, Jace reached over and grabbed a comms unit, and began shouting commands. "I need three units to Maiden Notes Estates immediately. Be advised, the Phantom is on site. I repeat. The Phantom is on site." Jace shouted into the comms unit.

First Founder said. “ Yes First Founder,” El said with a smirk. The first founder snapped its fingers and disappeared immediately. El chuckled and said, “ I wonder why the first founder wants Amaria dead, is the kid that special. Interesting, I must find out.” *** A week later… The streets of Symar were filled with joy and happiness as the people danced. Colourful Lantern lights and colourful decorations brightened the town. Now that the Horc has been killed they can celebrate and participate in the yearly festival which is always on the day Symar was founded. Phoenix Carlos AKA Nic is the most well off family of the three. He was the one who adopted his two friends Lucifer and Azza whenever they were evicted and ran away from their house. I’m praying someone here is more loyal to my dad than Marco as I do the only thing I can. I scream. --------- YUSEF My hands grip the stone tight as I pull myself up, and then I hear the sound that tears my heart into pieces. It’s Phoenix, and she’s in danger. Using all my strength, I climb the rest of the rocks quickly and leap over the railing and onto her bedroom balcony. I’ve made it through security undetected and now I’m here to sneak her out. It looks like there’s going to be some bodies along the way, but I don’t have a problem with that.

I dunno man, I can’t do that shit again.” I say not liking that option. “Xavier, your options are limited, why don’t you just come to Madrid and take your pick, I have plenty more options here.” He says knowing my answer already so I don’t even know why he’s even fucking suggesting it again.
