"Just move back." I didn't want to provoke him further or divert from the initial topic. Mario shifted back, but his piercing gaze remained on me. "I'll sign it," I conceded, "but I also have my own terms, which I'll state." Mario placed the paper before me once more. I took the pen, hesitating. "Be fast, the kids are coming," Mario urged, his smirk returning. "You wouldn't want our smart kids suspicious, would you?" I heard the kids' voices and tiny footsteps approaching. With a deep breath, I signed where needed.

Michael POV I was in my office when Marie walked in, a silver envelope in her hand, sealed with gold wax. "Special delivery," she said, placing it gently on my desk. I opened it slowly, already knowing what it was. A wedding invitation. Paul and Gio. Tuscany. A vineyard. Private ceremony.

Luciano's POV The invitation came wrapped in black. Marco handed it to me like it was a bomb. “From Matteo,” he said, jaw tight, eyes not quite meeting mine. “Formal invitation. New Year’s Eve.” I didn’t take it immediately. I just stared at it. Black cardstock. Gold lettering. Too elegant for blood, too theatrical for peace. A warning dressed like a compliment. I finally plucked it from his hand and read it silently. The words were clean. Polished. Civil. But the subtext burned hotter than Dock Nine.

“I want you to go to a meeting, and I’ll be going with you as your Beta.” I took the invitation and was surprised to see it. The invitation was white with gold borders and gold lettering. It was addressed to ‘Alpha Charlotte of the Moon Crest Pack.” Only one pack used this color for invitations.
