I opened the door just a few inches and saw a small cardboard box sitting on the carpet with no name and no return address, so I pulled it inside and opened the lid while the others crowded around me to see what was inside. Resting on a bed of white tissue paper was a single rose made of delicate glass and the stem was broken in half so it looked dead and jagged, and I knew immediately that it was a message from Elena Romano because that rose was the symbol of the investment firm we had burned down in Berlin.

They whispered, looking at Mario and Aunt Inez as well as Rosita. "Husshh don't be like that, Ros! You're being impolite ...," Mario rebuked. "Well, yes, of course. Aunt Inez is already old, why is she marrying a young man!" Rosita said thoughtlessly while playing with her long curly hair. "Ros, Stop!" Mario retorted, not accepting his wife being insulted by his ex-wife. "Why? Besides, you're being so easy, Mario, don't you have any self-respect that you're willing to be a sugar baby?!" Rosita scoffed at Mario.

"You're going to pay for that." Diego's eyes widened as Rafael's fists pummeled his face. He tried to defend himself, but Rafael was too strong. Just as Rafael was about to deliver the final blow, Rosalina appeared, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Ah-ah, Rafael. I don't think so," she said, her voice dripping with malice. Rafael's head snapped up, his eyes locking onto Rosalina. "You," he snarled.

I pushed open the bedroom door and found Xavier lying on the bed with Rosalina resting peacefully on his chest. "What’s going on? What’s wrong?" I gasped, breathless. "I missed you," he pouted, "and Rose kept punching my face." I growled, rolling my eyes. "You mean I sprinted across half the territory because you were being abused by a toddler?" "Yes," he said smugly. "You’re unbelievable." "Thanks." "That wasn’t a compliment." "Mmmmmm… AHHHHHHHHH!" Rosalina screamed happily. I flopped onto the bed beside them, causing her to bounce slightly. Xavier raked his fingers through her blonde hair, his expression soft and full of adoration.

Leo continued. “Viktor Marino is the strongest suspect right now.” She said without a stutter. “Who else would stand to gain from their deaths as much as him?” The room went so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. I raised my glass, taking a slow gulp of my drink. “Careful, Rosa. Don’t just throw accusations like that.” My lips stretched in an easy smile devoid of humor. “It’s Rosalind to you.” She said, checking her nails. “Everyone is thinking it. I just said it out loud.”

“My name is Rosalina Fabrizio. If you’re seeing this, it means I failed to dismantle the operation from within.” A pause. “And someone close to me betrayed me.” Talana stopped breathing. “Pablo?” she whispered. Onscreen, Rosalina looked over her shoulder. “It’s Pablo. He made a deal with De Marco and Donatello covering up his gambling addiction. They sold girls, children, in exchange for land, weapons, influence. I was going to expose them. Now I think they know.” Rosalina stepped closer to the camera. “If my daughter ever finds this… Talana, you were always the light in my darkness. Don’t let them win.”

THE WRONG BAIT Don Marco's POV My gaze swept over Rosalia's disheveled form, my expression unreadable. "Madonna, take our heroine inside to the bathroom and give her something to change into," I ordered my maid, with my deep voice firm. "A top and blue jeans. Something practical, then accompany her back to this room." I sharply declared in a low but harsh tone. Madonna nodded and tapped her shoulder. Rosalia stood up with her pale face and followed behind Madonna, all through the fully guarded corridor.
