Damian’s hands clenched into fists, but he kept walking, his pace brisk, head low. Near the lobby, he caught sight of Dr. Adrian storming toward the parking lot, phone pressed to his ear, fury etched across his face. Damian started forward, ready to stop him but a female voice cut through the chaos. “Damian? Oh my God, it’s really you!” He turned. A tall woman in designer heels, hair slicked back, eyes hidden behind shades. Martha. A ghost from his past. Childhood friend, now a famous model. “Martha,” he said flatly.

I stop between the pillars that hold up the vaulted ceiling. “Is everything okay, Cal?” Diamente asks when I don't speak. Diamente Lombardi, an attorney with a penchant for uncovering details most want to keep hidden, was a friend to both of my parents and a man my father trusted. I nod, take in the large windows, some still devoid of glass that let in the sun. "Vincent and Gregory Esmeralda are dead," I say. He studies me. I'm sure he wants to know why they're not all dead.

"You will be trapped here just in case I will throw a bomb. Your only exits are those damn elevator and stairs?" he scoffed, I always knew Adam had a photographic memory. And he was using it now. "Martin saved my life. If ever you pissed him off and planned to kill you, I can not save you, Detective Fields. This is inflammatory. The lady doctor's name is Annie. She's not Italian. She's from here!"

Stealing money and still having the nerve to argue back, people like her deserved to be beaten up! After speaking, Diana turned around and said to the stunned Martin, "Were you not well-fed at lunch, that your punches were so weak?" Martin snapped out of it immediately. Stephen said fixing into a system. They all concentrated as the CCTV footage began to display the scene of Martin at the parking lot and how a lady hopped into the car. "Pause!" Adam suddenly said and Stephen did just that. They all turned to look him curious. "That's the same lady I bumped into at Martin's house!..."He said. "Did you manage to see her face?" Liam asked. They never stopped replaying over and over again, but they were always scattered, not making any sense even when I tried to piece them together. I was getting scared the more they occurred hence why I was here in the first place. The old lady who I found out her name was Martha turned towards me fully, “Who are you?” She asked suspiciously, her wrinkled old eyes squinting, her dark eyes seemed to pierce into my soul. “My name is Diana, Diana Melbourne, I'm from the palace.” Maybe I shouldn't have said the last part as her eyes seemed to darken even more, she began to call out to the nurses, “Nurse, nurse? Get out, get out,” she ordered.

It was her word against mine. “Caroline…” To my immense surprise, Mrs. Lambert walked over to me and offered me a hand. Hesitantly, I took it and was helped to my feet. “Can you tell me what happened?” Her voice was shockingly gentle. She was acting like a mother rather than an adversary. “Martin was drugged,” I explained to the crowd. “He hid himself to avoid causing trouble. I was trying to help him, but someone locked the door behind us!”
