Looking at her with disbelief, I commented, “Honestly, Glenda, maybe it’s time to check your head. You’re grasping at straws now.” Anyone would have backed away from shame, but I forgot she didn’t have that. She kept her head high and took slow menacing steps towards me. Stopping just a few steps away and almost aligned with Prince Deacon, she let out a smirk. “I may lack your skill, Elena, but I have merited from the southern front. And let’s not forget—I’m Bryson’s Luna. That’s a title you’ll never take from me. You may gain all the honors you like, but you'll always be behind me, the first female general.”

This knowledge could be the key to tipping the scales in her favor once again. Slipping away as quietly as she had come, Miranda made her way to her quarters. She closed the door behind her, her hands trembling as she fished a small communication device out of her pocket. Her loyalty demanded action, and this was her chance to prove her usefulness to Celeste. On the other end of the line, Celeste answered almost immediately, her tone sharp and commanding. “What is it?” she demanded. “Luna,” Miranda whispered, her voice shaky but determined. “I have something you need to hear. Something that could change everything.”

The moment he stopped seeing Thea the servant and started seeing something else. Someone else. "Who are you?" he asked quietly. "And don't lie to me again. I'm done with lies." My breath gets caught in my throat and I have to tear my gaze off of her before she catches me looking. “I’ll get going,” Miranda breathes out. “No!” The word escapes my mouth before I can stop it. We face each other and I have to tell my body to breathe again. “I want a DNA test.”

Miranda is determined to prevent the destruction of the Nashville family, refusing to let an ordinary maid dictate their fate. With a forced smile adorning her face, Miranda navigates through the crowd of guests, searching for Melissa. She intends to use Melissa as a pawn in her scheme to disrupt Nora and Terry's relationship.
