I don't think I will ever get used to this feeling of emptiness inside me. "Maybe with Moon Magic," I made the suggestion and both of them looked at me. I handed Lee the scroll that I just read and she rolled it open. Her eyes darted over each line as she read it. The little delta girl was reading as fast as she could too. I must say. I am impressed by Lee's ability to learn things quickly. If I didn't know she only recently started to read fluently or started with school, I wouldn't have known she couldn't read so well.

My shopping experience there was amazing, and I even see myself probably visiting there whenever I need to treat myself to a comic getaway. The elevator dings, and the doors slide open. After stepping out of the elevator with my Chinese takeout in one hand, and the bag of pencils, gloves, socks, and the new comic books I got from the bookstore in my other hand, I begin walking to my condo unit. The thought of meeting Leo inside gnaws at my guts, filling me with the same instant anger that once flooded my veins about a couple hours ago after I met him and that Maddie girl clinging and playing around with each other.

My chest suddenly felt… tight. Something about it sat heavy inside me. “That was relatable…” I whispered, staring at the screen. “Now I see why this book is all over the reading platforms…” I hesitated for a second, then tapped *Add to Library*. “Interesting… I should read it.” Slowly, I lowered my phone and glanced up. My mom—Mei—sat nearby, gently rocking the baby in her arms. My gaze softened instantly. Then… it shifted to the door. Leo.

“Yeah. Did you really come here only for the brownies?” “No.” He pressed a finger to the book. “Do you do the books yourself?” Confused by his question, I shook my head. “Why?” He stared down at it again for a few minutes before he looked up at me. “Who does your books?” “Lee does, or rather she did.” I sighed. “She quit this morning.” “Why?” Severide’s frown deepened. “She said she got an internship in London. Her flight’s leaving tonight. Why are you looking at me like that?”

As he was walking away, the lady then asked him, “If you don’t mind… do you want to sit at the same table then.” “Are you sure? There are-” “No, I- I insist… Since this corner of the café is the best spot to read, I always sit here, I don’t mind sharing it with you.: “Ah sure, that spot was something I had my eye on since earlier.” Kayne replied. “AH, REALLY, let’s share it then!” Both were really awkward at each other at first but when they found out that both were reading the same book, they eventually got a comfortable to talk at each other.

"I guess I did." "Yeah, kind of." Leo smiled a little. "But it's a good surprise." "Did I interrupt your plans?" I tried not to glance at his book and wine. He chuckled. "Sure, big plans." Pointing to the book, he shrugged. "My dad gave me a biography of Robert E. Lee for Christmas. You know Dad; he figures since I'm living in Virginia, I need to read up on her most famous sons. Anyway, I had a pretty brutal workout this afternoon, so I just ordered in Chinese food, had a shower and was settling down to read when the guard called."

Leo said. She looked at him for one more second. Then that smile again, warm, unguarded, completely unconscious of what it did to the air around it. "Read the book," she said. "Chapter nine is insane." She turned and walked back down the road. Leo stood at the gate and watched her go with the book in his hands and something in his chest that he was running out of walls to contain. He heard Junior before he saw him. "Don't even say it," Leo said without turning around.
