Like he was in his own office instead of a shipping yard at two in the morning.
"I count twelve guards outside," Marcus whispered beside me, using his own binoculars.
I swept the area systematically. He was right. Twelve visible. Two at the trailer entrance. Four patrolling the perimeter of Section D-7. Six more positioned at strategic points—near the crane, near the access road, near the container stacks.
"Probably more inside the containers," I said.
"And more we can't see from this angle."
I panned left and spotted the cargo ship. MV Northern Star. A massive freighter, the Russian flag hanging limp in the still air. A crane was actively loading containers onto the deck, workers moving lik
