That evening, I duplicated the Bell of First Dawn,the ancient chime that hasn’t rung in a century, said to awaken the slumbering guardians of the academy. It rang at midnight. Clear,pure, and earth-shaking. Students ran out. Professors fell to their knees. Even the birds got silent. Morwen stood on her balcony, tears streaking her face, as the sound washed over her like judgment. I stand on the roof with Jason, Kael, and Elian, watching the chaos unfold. “Who’s doing all of these?” Kael whispered, very shocked. Elian shook his head. “It’s like the academy itself is healing.”

The door creaked open with a haunting echo, revealing a dimly lit interior filled with arcane symbols and books of forbidden knowledge. A figure stepped forth from the shadows, their face hidden beneath a hood. Their voice dripped with malice. "You have come far, but your journey ends here. Silverwood's destiny belongs to me." Malachi squared his shoulders, his voice firm. "Reveal yourself, traitor. Your deceit ends now." With a flourish, the figure removed their hood, revealing a face that sent a shiver down my spine. It was someone we had trusted implicitly, someone who had fought alongside us. It was Selene.

He just pissed me off making my blood boil. I prepared a lecture I would give Justin before dropping the ‘you’re in charge’ bit. "And oh my, you are a 10 minutes away from witnessing the full moon." I ran to my heels, rushing through the hallways like a loose madman, my heels clip-clopping all over the halls. Rushing off past the staircase, I remembered father's words, my smile disappearing almost immediately.

I ask, and I find my voice has come out as almost a whisper. "I didn't mean to startle you," he says, and I see his eyes flicker over my body, even in the half-dark. "I just thought you might want to know it's not a full moon yet. In case that's important for your shot." His voice is low, almost a growl and it sends a tingle up my spine. "Oh thanks," I murmur, an inexplicable thrill racing through my body as I gaze at him. "But it's a series I'm working on - the title is Incomplete." At this I see a wry smile break out on his face.

Novalie POV The next week passed in a blur as I adjusted to my new surroundings and the demands of life at the academy. The classes were actually the easiest part of my day. It was the in-between part that was the hardest. Everyone here seemed to be fascinated by the fact that I was a Midnight Moon Omega female and attending the academy. A group of Gamma boys had taken to calling me the Midnight Moon Madam, while the other ranked kids called me much, much worse.
