There was a time long ago when witches and wolves worked together, witches would sometimes even find themselves mated to wolves through a gift of the moon goddess. But, one of those matings went wrong long ago. A witch named Aster and an alpha from the blood moon pack had become fated mates. But, the witch was sterile and could not have any pups for the alpha.

Aria smiled warmly. “That’s exactly right.” She looked up at the Blood Moon shining peacefully above them. Once, that same moon had watched a frightened, wolfless girl walk alone into exile. It had witnessed her tears. Her loneliness. Her despair. Tonight, that same moon watched a woman surrounded by her family, her friends, and a united world.
