Or how her pupils dilate whenever she looks at me, how caution and fear bleed into those baby blue eyes, even when she tries to hide it.
She looks at me as if she can see through every mask I've put up, covering up what lies beneath my constantly controlled exterior. She looks as if she can see through it all, and it bugs me, more than anything.
As I drive through the streets of Milan, I try to think of something else, anything that will get her off my mind. I'm headed for Orgo Construction, one of the many legal businesses The Black Rose uses to clean our money and cover our tracks.
