I take your goods and turn them into something usable, Silas.” Finn rolls his eyes. “Careful. That might land you with a needle in your hands.” “And how do you know I couldn’t handle it?” Elian wiggles his fingers.

Milo nodded his head with a smile, and Harrison returned to his cleaning. As I stepped out of the bar and into the cool, early-morning air, I wondered if Milo was going to spend more time with Harrison here at the bar. Would they have sex? He muttered as he opened the Writers app to read the most popular stories on the app. He opened chapter 16, because the last time he read it was in chapter 15. Although he was reluctant to read the scenes that made him shudder, he finally did. The man showed his smile to the world, as if confirming he was the winner. A lion that roars loudly, making anyone who hears its sound frightened or a gorilla that beats its chest to show its power.

I needed a friend in that building. Long after Anya was gone, I showered and sat on my bed reading a novel. I almost laughed at the irony of Milo telling me to wait on my bed naked and then not showing up for hours. It was already dark inside and he was nowhere to be found. At least I had a brain to remember what a load of bullshit he loved to spew. I got so lost in my book that I didn't hear someone enter my bedroom until my book was pulled from my hands. Milo stood beside my bed skimming over the words I was reading. I tried to reach for the book but he kept it out of reach.
