“You’re not mad about the picture, are you?” She stopped so suddenly he almost ran into her. Gal turned and looked him dead in the eye. “Why did you send that stupid picture anyway?” He tilted his head, already grinning like he’d won something. “Well,” Milo said slowly, “I just wanted you to see what a werewolf looks like...” He chuckled, “half naked,” he concluded with a wink. Gal stared at him in horror. “You’re so gross…so petty.” “Really?” he asked, looking mock-offended. “So you deleted it, then, since you don't like it?”

“It’s good to be confident, but don’t be conceited. Watch out, or you might lose everything.” Then, Milo lowered his voice a little and said playfully, “But, John, I love seeing you beg me.” Immediately, he hung up and threw the phone to the ground with force. It seems that he could go easy anymore. He needed to do more practical things to scare John. Suddenly, he raised his head and revealed his red eyes. “Where’s the spy?” The attendant in the house answered immediately. “In the basement.” “Take me there.” Milo followed his attendant down to the basement.

“Who? Do you have men controlling the situation? I’m on my way.” Milo sped down the road, ignoring red lights, his anger fueling the reckless pace. By the time we arrived, my tomb had already been breached. Standing next to it were none other than Lucian and Selene. “What the hell are you doing?!” Milo shouted as he charged forward, shoving Lucian aside with all his strength, his glare promising violence. He looked as if he wanted to tear Lucian apart right then and there. But Lucian barely acknowledged Milo’s rage. He was focused solely on breaking open the tomb.

Milo stood up as his anger intensified and the scent of my blood drove him to insanity. Milo lunged at me, his fangs heading straight for my neck and his sharp nails aimed at my heart right at the moment that Abby opened the door and flung herself in between us. “Abby!” Milo struck us hard, his nails digging into Abby’s stomach and his mouth coming down on her shoulder. I hit the floor hard, skidding several feet and banging my head into the opposite wall as I held on to Abby. Something had snapped Milo out of his maddening frenzy as he knelt over Abby and pulled her off me to the floor.

I wasn’t sure my heart was safe, forget my life. Before I could gather a single brain cell, he dragged me into a shadowed corner. We watched the intruder circle. Hunting. Milo moved. One moment he was beside me. The next he was on the stranger, silent and deadly. Pinned him. Disabled him. Tied him like a professional problem-solver. I blinked. Twice. “Uh… wow,” I said. “That was—” “Not over,” he cut in. “We move.” I followed.

As Milo marched back to the main hall, muttering to himself, he froze halfway. His tablet, left on the coffee table, was glowing. He hadn’t touched it since this morning. He approached it slowly, picking it up. The screen displayed a new anonymous email. –You Looked Beautiful in the Mirror Today. Below it was an image. An image of Milo, standing in his bathroom, shirtless, brushing his teeth. It was obviously taken from outside the window. His blood ran cold. Behind him, Nolan’s voice cut the silence. “What is it?” Milo didn’t turn around.

"No!!!" Tina was shrieking, "My baby!!! I'm so sorry!!!" Zach came rushing in. "What's wrong?! What happened?! What are you crying for?!" Tina could only keep wailing, "My baby… My baby!!!" Feeling a sense of foreboding, Zach walked up and unwrapped the swaddle to see that it wasn't my daughter, but the son they were so obsessed with! The bastard's cheeks were purple, and he wasn't breathing at all, clearly having been strangled to death.

He kept moving, heart thudding with every step. Finally, he called the Silvermoon Patrol for help. They launched a search immediately, combing the forest and surrounding restaurants, searching all night. Nothing. Not a single trace of me. As Philip questioned the patrol, one of the patrollers handed him something small. "We found this in the woods." Philip snatched it from the man's hand and froze. It was the custom-made marking ring he had given me, with both our names engraved inside. "We believe Ms. Grace might have been taken by rogue wolves," said the patroller carefully.

I moved to grab his gun before Milo hit him hard as he fell to the ground. I liked Milo because he knew how to move with utter silence. His skill was why he was on my team.
