Ace stood alone as the road curved into silence. Behind him, the woods stirred and then they came. Ten wolves. They were dark, fast, and soulless. Their eyes glowed with that same unnatural light he remembered from his days under control. Midnight Mystery wolves. They were noty just simple wolves but Engineered monsters. He didn’t hesitate. Ace shifted. His silver wolf burst forth in a flash of power and fury. His eyes gleamed violet under the rising moon. He met the first wolf mid-leap and slammed him into the dirt with a bone-breaking crunch.

In the middle of a clearing, two massive wolves were locked in battle. Luka’s dark, hulking form clashed with Alec’s silver wolf, their fur matted with blood and dirt. Their snarls filled the air, a terrifying sound of raw power and fury. They circled each other, teeth bared, their eyes blazing with a hatred so deep that it cut through Elara like a knife.

I sighed, knowing that I should think before I speak, not all tribes were friendly to strangers. “I tripped and I am unable to get back up, I was in the glass tubes for days without food or water.”
