I was a sucker for pretty faces. The only reason I agreed to date Isabelle was because she was passable-looking as partner material. It had only been a few days since junior year started when my roommate came over to me and awkwardly said, "Damian, I just spotted your girlfriend getting pretty close to that well-known broke pretty boy by the campus lake." I immediately rolled up my sleeves and rushed toward the lake. From a distance, I saw Isabelle standing very close to a slim young man. But the moment I got a good look at his face, I froze. "Damn! This guy was insanely handsome!" He was so good-looking that even I, as another guy, was jealous. Isabelle frowned and stepped in front of me.

They seemed to be scared to see me, well it's good cos they better be! *** Yes, jealousy was a feeling of an envious resentment that happened when our soulmate showed an attraction to someone else. It’s the unproven prejudice that could lead into harmful consequences, especially if our lover was truly innocent.

His tone was light and almost casual when he said, "As far as I'm concerned, what's the point of good grades if you've got a rotten personality? That's the real problem. "Look at Andrew—great grades, good-looking, and liked by everyone. That's the kind of person people naturally gravitate toward. He's not like certain people, who are withdrawn, antisocial, and couldn't care less about the group." Every word felt like a needle driving into me. In comparison with Andrew, I was clearly the weird one who only cared about grades and not about people. Tyler had even twisted my refusal into proof that I was jealous, had a bad temper, and had terrible character.

It didn't feel right. What terrified me the most was the spiked blood pressure and increased heart rate when I stepped out of the bathroom and saw him talking to the maid. How stupidly she grinned at him, wetting her panties for that neanderthal jerk! Fuming internally, I wished to rip her heart off her chest. And then I realized it was the ugly jealousy which reared its head when I witnessed him flirting with another woman. Cue feelings of disgust with myself followed. I shouldn't care who he was making a move on. I really should not, and yet...

, she spat as she flung me across the room. I got up from the floor, and made eye contact with her again, only to see one emotion in her eyes: jealousy; it burned deep and hot inside her. I started to ask why- why would she be jealous of me but she quickly turned and exited the room.

As I stood in the shower, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my pounding heart. Our three-year-long mate bond was ending today. That thought left a sharp pain in my chest, almost suffocating me. As pain washed over me, a melodious ringtone reached my ears. Oh, no! I almost forgot I had to deliver a design proposal to an important client today. Hastily, I dressed up, grabbed my purse, and rushed downstairs. As I ran, I called out to Marcus, saying, "Marcus, please help arrange a ride for me!"

I headed back upstairs to my room, as my mind replayed the dinner conversation and the obvious look of mira's jealousy was undeniable, not even by her. I had intentionally fueled it her anger, but she needed to know celia's flirtations were harmless, but Mira didn't see it that way. Of course she doesn't like her around me, so there's nothing there for her to read positively. I changed into comfortable clothes which would grant me speed and comfortablity as I run.
