HIS TO CONQUER
Something was definitely wrong.
"Peter," I said, my voice sharper now, "tell me what's happening."
The silence that followed was deafening. I could almost hear Peter's labored breaths on the other end of the line. Then his voice when it came, was a mere whisper, that shattered the fragile remnants of my composure.
"Sir," he began, his voice thick with emotion, "I don’t know how to tell you this. But....we just lost Mr Gideon Pierce."
