THE DETACHED ALPHA
Pulling out a stool from the white bi-level island, I sat and palmed my chin while resting my elbows on the white and gray granite countertop, looking at the trays of the pyramid-arranged muffins.
Monster Alpha did not reply to me, so I took the moment to rest my aching feet. I wiggled them and rotated my ankles as a massaging method. Then I heard a door open and closed with loud heavy footsteps approaching the kitchen.
“One of your muffins has been calling my name for so long, Mikayla,” Forbes smiles, taking up one of the pastry. “I think I’ll name this one, Stacy.” He gives the muffin a kiss before taking a bite. "Mmm," he nods his head with delight. "Scrumptious."
