I tell her with a grin. "What is hot chocolate?" She asks as her excitement begins to return. "Oh, you have never had hot chocolate? Well, I will make you some but you have to promise that you will not drink it every night after this." I tell her as her smile grows bigger. "It is the most decadent drink you have ever had. It is melted chocolate mixed into milk. There is a pile of whipped cream on top as well as all of the sprinkles you could want. So, are you in?" I ask.

“I made hot chocolate for you, drink up.” Quinn got up to open the door, saying, “Mom, the hot chocolate you made is so concentrated, I bet you used up the whole packet.” After opening the door, she still took the cup from Zoey. Without needing a taste test, one could tell how rich the chocolate drink must be by looking at its consistency. No matter how big the cup was, Zoey would add more than enough chocolate to match. “The weather’s cold, and you’re on your period. What’s wrong with drinking some hot chocolate? What’s so bad about it being rich and creamy? I don’t hear you complaining when you drink chocolate milkshakes. Why don’t you complain about its richness then?

I look up at her and raise an eyebrow, and she chuckles. “I always find that hot chocolate is like therapy, like a big, chocolatey, gooey hug. Here, use the spoon.” She says and I smile at her and pick up the spoon and scoop out some of the cream with the marshmallows and pop it in my mouth and I moan. The sweetness and the powdery softness of the marshmallows melts on my tongue.

Within a couple of minutes, the contents in the mould had melted into a consistent lethal liquid. I pulled it out with the help of a glove and poured a fraction of the content into a handheld bowl. Milk powder gives a creamy taste to white and milk chocolate. We first mixed all the raw materials in a cylindrical tank with rough walls. We used a specific proportion so that we'd have a specific aroma and appearance for the chocolate. We then used a series of rollers to compress the chocolate mass to give it a more grounded texture. I removed it from the rollers and kept it in a metal cylinder so it can warm up and become ground for a few hours.

My eyes drop to the rich chocolate mousse in the center sitting on a small china bowl, the aroma intoxicating. A giggle escapes me as I usher him inside. I dipped the spoon and collected the chocolate goodiness and wasn't too surprised to find the layered chocolate ice cream. I ate the spoonful of that, the chips and chocolate beads crunching in my mouth, and I closed my eyes as I savored the dark flavour of the chocolate.
