He grips their leg, clinging to it like a lifeline. "Momma?" Hope flares in his chest. But then it shatters. The air around them shifts. Dark. Wrong. The figure lowers their hood, revealing pitch-black eyes that pierce through his soul. Logan staggers back, shaking his head violently. "No…" His voice trembles. "No, no, no…" The woman smiles, but it’s not warm. It’s ice. "Hello, Logan." The darkness tightens around him, swallowing his little world whole. The woman standing in front of him was no longer his mother, but a monster, leading the ones surrounding him.

I shouted through the mind link. “They’re everywhere!” Bryan snarled. “Where the hell are they coming from?” “They’re Melanie’s new pets,” Hardin growled. “Experimented monsters, half rogues and half demons.” Another hunter lunged at me with a flaming blade. I ducked, rolled, and slammed into him, breaking his ribs with one hit. The blade fell, cutting into the ground where I had just been. Bryan’s wolf howled, a sound that shook the forest. His fangs found another throat, and he tore it apart with a satisfying crack.

Hannah whispered to him, giving him a small smile. “What do you want?” Asher yelled, turning to look at Knox. “Bad guy..what do bad guys want…money, power, control. Same deal. I want Red Woods…I want to destroy Cross River.” Knox said grinning. The hall door busted open, wood shattering out into the room. A large dark gray wolf came bursting through, flanking his sides were several other wolves, all eyes glowing white except the one glowing ice blue. The back door to the hall busted open, another swarm of wolves came rushing in. The deep chocolate wolf leading the way, eyes glowing ice blue, looked fierce. "This is his curse. He never wanted you to see him in this state. Please you have to go now!" "I'm not leaving." Suddenly one of the chains holding the monster's furry arm broke away. The other one followed and the beast lunged at them, claws opened and ready to devour. Tyler moved swiftly and he leaped to the side, grabbing the crossbow that lay on the ground. He aimed it at the beast and fired a shot.

Glaring all around he walked over to his mother while his claws disappeared along with his canines. Emma hugged him as soon as she saw him. Hunter wrapped his arms around her frame comforting her. Hunter glanced at Draken whose vicious eyes met his gaze. Hunter tipped his head asking if anyone was able to escape. Draken shook his head as Hunter helped his mom into his car. Hunter walked over to the dead body that was near the tree. Sitting on his toes he examined it. The bones were crushed and the body was simply a batter of crushed bones and organs in a skin. No way this was done by any werewolf.

AVA Without another word, Hunter moves swiftly away from the lockers, passing by his two friends whose names I'm guessing are Preston and Gomorey. They had been gawking at Hunter with a mischievous grin playing on their lips, and Hunter didn't waste a chance to shoot them both with his penetrating glare. I noticed their pupils retrench as they stared at him, meaning they were conversing with each other through mindlink. It was brief, lasting a couple of seconds before Hunter turns left and straight down the now-empty halls.

They had such an excellent bond based on their likes and dislikes. The real Monster had not yet finished, but had just started. She would awaken Luther's true monster. She would destroy him and his family. She would make Noelle's life an absolute hell. This is the second part of Monster. *********
