Moon Flowers Novels & Stories

Felicia The next night when Gregor left for the night I stayed up. I sat in the dark by the window and waited. The moon was nearly full and the night was clear, so I could see the valley floor well. I wanted another glimpse at the red wolf or any of his companions. But the night was silent except for the insects that chirped in the grass and the trees. The moon wasps were out, trying to harvest as much nectar as possible before winter. Their bioluminescent blue glow blinked off and on throughout the undergrowth. Several night-blooming flowers grew in the valley. Fallen Stars with their abundant fire red petals, Midnight Violets whose black petals were a warning not to eat them, they would ki

The sight that befell Cilyna and Kaynon as they reached the side of the mountain had Cilyna staring in astonishment. An older woman with hip length silver hair sat cross legged in the center of a salt circle. There was no wind blowing through the trees, yet her hair was flowing all around her as if she had stuck her finger in a light socket though gently swaying to her soft siren chant. The setting sun was her spotlight and the small dust like particles floating in the air looked like glitter. The scene had a Disney magic feel to it.

“You don’t change until the first full moon after your 17th birthday. However some of us will start to have some minor changes before. Better hearing, better eyesight, better sense of smell, craving meat more, wanting to be outdoors all the time. Things like that. The first time you turn it is very painful. You have no control over it and it will happen faster if you are directly in the moon light, but it will happen even if it is cloudy. It just takes longer.” Amaris took a moment to absorb all this. Then it dawned on her. “Tonight is the full moon!” Amaris burst out standing up. Anna came over to put her arm around Amaris’ shoulders and sat her down once more. “Now you know why I have been

He added some of the herbs he usually used as medicine and roasted the fish for a little time in case it got burnt. "The sky is so pretty tonight." Feng Shao complimented whilst staring at the twinkling stars. The moon was shining extinguishing all shades of darkness, filling the whole area with light. It looked like a portion of a dreamscape. So beautiful and delicate to an extent where it could disappear any time. "Yeah, it is." Lui Xian replied but he was not looking at the sky but the person beside him. He seemed to be glowing with a warm light. And appeared to be a fallen angel from heaven. He wanted to embrace him and taint him with some of his dark essence.

He gave the maids a purple crystal “I have to leave, tell me when you see the moon turning blue.” Blue moon- the best moment in Domin- only appears once every seven hundred years when the fairy flowers simultaneously bloom. I didn’t feel like I was in the Silver Moon pack, the forest seemed different. Up ahead were a bed of flowers. As I paced closer towards them, I discovered an open field with hundreds—no thousands—of stunning white flowers. I plucked one, admired its beauty, and indulged in its beautifully strong, lemony scent. Ipomoea alba (moon flower), I remembered coming across this flower during my research for the herbs used in witchcraft. I loved how they blossomed in the afternoon and lasted only through the night. They reminded me of my comfort of being awake at night, feeling like my mind was clearer when I was in the presence of the moon. ‘There she is!’ I heard the female spirit scream.

Perhaps fresh air would clear her head. The gardens were silent this late at night. Laura wandered along stone paths, inhaling the sweet scent of night flowers. As she turned a corner, she gasped. Before her stretched a hidden garden filled with flowers she'd never seen before—blooms that only opened under moonlight, their petals a luminous blue-white that seemed to glow. "Moon lilies," came Nikolai's voice from the shadows. "They only bloom three nights each month." Laura turned to find him watching her from a stone bench. He wore a simple black shirt, open at the throat, and dark pants. His hair was tousled, as if he'd been running his hands through it.

"Let the moon see you." I stepped into the circle. The moment the moonlight hit my skin, the shaman began circling me slowly, mumbling something I couldn't understand. She stopped in front of me and pulled a pale white flower from a small pocket I hadn't noticed in her robe. "This is the moonflower," she said. "It blooms only at night." She threw it in the bowl.

Yet close. Down the mountain, flickering torches marked the village, the hunter was back and the story was spreading. “The meadows are this way,” Ronan said, pointing. “We move fast and quietly.” The Sanguine Root’s blood-red roots glowed softly by moonlight. The Moon-Petal was harder to find, a small, silver-white flower blooming only at night. They gathered quickly, shaken by every shadow.

I watched her for a moment in the glow of the moon light as she looked over at the land in front of her. I watched her cover her mouth in shock and her eyes brimmed with beautiful tears that I wanted to kiss away. “What is this place?” she asked, stuttering as her eyes continued to stare in wonder at the beautiful flowery field, full of moon lilies that only bloomed on a full moon. Today was the last day for their bloom and after that, they would wither and disappear again, until the next full moon. Even I was captivated by their beauty the first time I saw this place on my first recon mission.
