Moonwatcher Wings Of Fire Graphic Novel の小説・ストーリー

Chu Xun flung out the scroll of the painting and it unfurled with a snap, glowing brightly with a strange burst of white light, and Jiang Tao and his men reappeared, so did the last remaining Wingeds. The two Wingeds jerked their heads left and right and realized that they had exited the dimension of the Reality Painting and broke into smiles, thinking they had been saved. Rata-tata-tata! Flames burst from the muzzles of the machine gun that spewed incessant rounds of lead at the two Wingeds, blasting them into bits. "ARRGGGHH!" Legionnaires of the Winged Legion stirred hotly, eager to charge to avenge their kin if not for their elderly Winged who quickly stopped them.

“The others?” “Yeah.” She flipped a page and handed it to me. Sketches from scouts—shadows that didn’t belong to anything, skeletal figures wearing cracked armor, things that moved like smoke given shape. “Whatever got stirred up when you took that flame? It’s waking up the things that should’ve stayed buried.” The air around me shimmered faintly as my pulse spiked. The fire reacted before I could stop it, gold veins flashing briefly across my arms. Mara didn’t flinch.

He could feel the sweat beading on his forehead as he drew close, the sting of the saltwater in his eyes as the droplets caught in his eyelashes on their passage down to his cheeks. “There is no pain,” she was as shocked by the development as he was. “The flames do not burn me.” He reached out carefully but could not touch the flames. They burnt as hot as dragon flame. “They do not burn me, but I can feel their heat,” he told her. “Flaming wings… That was… not what I expected.” “Me either,” she looked at him wild-eyed. “Do you suppose that I could…” “Yes,” he followed her gaze when she looked skywards. “Do it, Ember.”

I hadn’t understood what she meant until now. Maybe she knew. Maybe the fire was never meant to destroy me. The moon slides out from behind the clouds. For a second, the ashes around me glow faintly, stirred by a soft gust. They spiral upward, forming the faint outline of wings. Phoenix wings. I blink, and they’re gone. The world feels too still. Too empty. No guards. No scent of wolves. They must have thought there was nothing left to find. No one survives a fire like that. I crawled towards the river. The reflection that greets me isn’t mine.

Slowly, reluctantly, they began to move. Stormfall warriors approached Bloodpine wolves with stiff shoulders and narrowed eyes. Bloodpine wolves mirrored the tension, their movements sharp, their expressions guarded. The air hummed with distrust, but they moved…and that was something. Lyra watched as Lucas approached Damien. The two warriors stared at each other like predators circling, neither willing to be the first to blink. “This should be fun,” Lucas muttered. Damien smirked. “Try to keep up.” Lyra winced. “This is going to be a disaster.”

"I'll get you a grimoire, and you can start your own. Of course, the one I gave you belongs to your people. But that doesn't mean you can't have one of your own." I nodded, knowing that time was of the essence. Xander was waiting for Cruz's location. And every moment we wasted was another moment that Cruz was captive. Daphne raised her hands over the bowl, and the flames grew brighter and taller on the candles. Then she cupped her hand and made the motion of scooping up the fire from on top of the candles and set it in the bowl. Even though there was nothing on her hand, flames flared from the bowl. I gasped, for in the fire was a vision of Cruz. He was tied to a chair in some dark warehouse

Every other time one of her past selves had died Lawrence s release from the flames and into the Announcer had been simultaneous. Something was different; something that was making her see things that couldnt possibly be real. Wings on fire. Daniel! she cried out. What looked like Daniels wings soared through waves of flames, catching fire but not smoldering, as if they were made of fire. All she could make out were white wings and violet eyes. Daniel? The fire rolled across the darkness like a giant wave across an ocean. It crashed onto an invisible shore and washed furiously over Lawrence , rushing up her body, over her head, and far behind her.

Not because I wanted a lap to nap on—though, obviously, I did—but because if she didn’t make it out of this hospital… Then, none of this would’ve been worth it. Not the fire. Not the rescue. Not even the handsome firefighter with good arms and decent instincts. None of it. So I stayed pressed against the edge of the carrier, silent now, watching and waiting like the sentinel she didn’t know she had. My claws were useless. My yowl meant nothing. But I would not stop watching. Not until she opened her eyes again.

“Luna, please–” “Don’t you call me that, now you remember I am Luna, right?” she lashed out at the guard. This was more than enough for me. “Get her out now,” I ordered. Her voice trailed behind as she was dragged outside. **** After what looked like minutes turned to hours, I honestly lost track of time. A surge of power rushed up my arm, golden light racing across the floor like lightning. The mark of the Alpha appeared on Caleb’s wrist, small but unmistakable.

Fluffy white wings stretched out of my back and cast a shadow over me, covering me as though they were shields. That wasn’t the problem, though. At the bottom of my wings, there was fire that did not appear to cause me or my cloth any harm. It just burned. In the middle of my head was a crescent moon that glowed. “They are burning,” I heard someone say. “How are they white if she is the demigod of Night and shadows?” Another asked.
