Some part of me telling me that it has something to do with this coldness. Then l heard mum cough down stairs.l rushed to see what happened to her .That's when it hit me hard that the frost is every where around our house.lt was the freezing temperature that made mum uncomfortable. Mum are you okay ? I asked.Yes l just don't understand why it's this cold .She replied .She even out on two long jackets.Aint you feeling it Daci ? Mum asked.A little not like how you are shivering l said.She was trembling and l could feel her teeth shattering in her mouth.She looked at me like she doesn't understand a thing.

Just me and the tiny life growing inside me. A warm blanket settled across my shoulders. I opened my eyes. Damien. Of course. I hadn’t even noticed him leave the room. “You were cold.” The explanation was simple, matter of fact, as though draping blankets over me was completely normal. Maybe for him it was becoming normal. The realization did something strange to my chest—something warm, something dangerous. Across the room, my mother watched the interaction quietly. A look crossed her face. Not disapproval. Not concern. Something closer to understanding. I looked away first. That felt safer.

Ch-2 --------------------- Mom came in, and then waited for my assistance. I had to lift the nightgown from her perfect body and help her ease into the bath, lest she slip. Though the water was warm, the cool air in the bathroom made mom's sexy brown nipples pop and get angry, throbbing outwards like she was still nursing me.

Mom staggered into the kitchen, completely drunk. I quickly shoved my books under the blanket, startled. She walked over to my bed and stood in front of me. I was caught off guard for a moment, and then, a strange feeling of joy rushed through me. Mom had actually said she loved me.

Chloe crept closer, her heart swelling as she reached out to touch her mother’s arm, the warmth of the gesture brimming with affection. “Mom,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper, “I’m taking you to a beautiful new place. I know you’ve been worried about me, but trust me, I’m doing really well now. This is just a step for you to get stronger so you can join me in the penthouse. You wouldn’t believe all that I’ve accomplished. It’s going to be amazing when you’re finally there with me.” As she spoke, she felt it, a sudden, sharp grip. Her mother’s frail fingers had latched onto her wrist, startlingly strong. Her eyes remained closed, but her mouth began to move.

Just walked out and left me alone with my sleeping brother. I moved my chair closer to the bed and reached out to touch his forehead. The fever was gone, but his skin was still warm. Human warm, not the burning heat from before. "I won't let her hurt you anymore," I whispered to his sleeping form. "I promise." But even as I said it, I knew it was a promise I might not be able to keep. Mother was like a storm system. She gathered power as she moved, and everything in her path got swept up or destroyed.

He just shakes his head and goes back into his room, leaving me feeling like I had done something wrong. Bell was so cold at times it killed me but I knew I deserved it, I would watch the realisation appear on her face and the walls would slam into place to protect herself. I had only just sat on the end of my bed when a soft tap came at my door, I can feel my mother before she even enters. I smile as my tiny mother walks in, she may be small but this woman can take down the toughest of men easily. Her gold eyes are so similar to my own, she smiles at me, her warmth and love wraps around me as it always does when she smiles at me.

It was warm, gentle, and alive. Mother's smile softened into something impossibly tender. (Your little one...) Her voice became almost a whisper. (...has never truly left your side.) The glowing spirit floated happily between Lucretius and me before gently brushing against my fingertips. Warmth immediately bloomed throughout my entire body. (He has been watching over both of you. Chapter 46 – Healing Hearts The morning sun filtered softly through the curtains, casting gentle patterns across the living room. The house, once echoing with tension and fear, now hummed with quiet resilience. Laughter lingered in corners, footsteps echoed in rhythm with healing, and small acts of care became the family’s daily rituals.
