However, when we arrived at the hospital, there were no doctors, medicine, or equipment. After several desperate calls, the paramedics discovered that this was the very hospital where Quinn was giving birth. Because Sean was so obsessed with her, he had diverted every medical resource in the building to her private ward.

The man cleared his throat and looked me searching for words, his tense eyes told me everything, something went wrong, I made a fist waiting for him to say what the fuck happened. “Sir, Mrs Margareth is fine, the brith was difficult, doctor Philips did everything possible, but one of the babies unfortunately the situation and passed away. Your wife is recovering well, your daughter went to the incubator to be better taken care of, she’s premature and her lungs still need intensive care.”

“I won’t allow it.” There was something in his tone. Protective. Possessive. I softened my voice slightly. “You wouldn’t want that kind of chaos either.” He understood what I meant. “No,” he said. “I wouldn’t.” Good. We hung up shortly after. I placed the phone down slowly and let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding. The pregnancy was not a weakness. It was a complication. And complications could be managed. Margaret had made one fatal mistake. She underestimated me.

I screamed out as I hugged myself, tears flowing ceaselessly down my cheek, this wasn't the life I had imagined for my child, not one with the beast, who was rumored not to have a heart, who everyone hated. “How did this happen?” I wondered, stunned, staring blankly at Irene, who kept yelling at me. “You have to get yourself together” she yelled at me, but I wasn't thinking straight, not now. “Daphne” she yelled before slapping me hard so that I could feel the sting afterward. " You aren't the first to get pregnant….” “With the beast's baby,” I reminded her, cutting her short. “ You have heard about him, how ruthless he is, and how he is rumored not to have human compassion, how exactly did

She laughed awkwardly. The three women changed the topic to avoid the awkwardness, however, Margarette couldn't get rid of it in her head. With a child? She doesn't know what it looks like to be pregnant or how it is to be pregnant. She has heard many stories from the old maids in their house before that when Margarette's mother was pregnant with her, it was a very difficult moment for the couple, and right after her mother gave birth to her, she died. Margarette was petrified at the idea of being pregnant. Although she likes to have babies, too, and build a family with Xavier, the thought of what might happen to her scares her a lot.

The words landed heavy, her whole world suddenly stilling for a second. She was pregnant. “Good, thank you,” she heard Alaric say to the doctor. “You may leave now.” She heard the door click shut again, Alaric speaking up the second they were alone again. “You heard him. You’re pregnant. You’re carrying my heir. The heir to the Storm pack.” “Let’s talk again during dinner about the changes that’ll be taking place now,” he continued. “For now, I need to inform my mother and make necessary preparations. I’ll see you later then.”

I made myself look back down at the page. We spent the next hour working through it line by line. He gave ground on the appearance schedule. I gave ground on a media training clause I'd initially crossed out entirely. I admitted, privately, that he had a point about the Digest reporters already circling both our families. "One more thing." He reached the end of the draft. "If either of us starts seeing someone else during this, we tell the other person first. Before it becomes a headline." "That's not in the draft."

“Joan, I’m already showing like I’m eight months along. What if I go into labor in the next few weeks?” “Then we deal with it,” Joan said calmly, though I heard the underlying worry. “I’ve studied magical pregnancies extensively. I can help you through the delivery if necessary. And Marcus has field medical training from his military days. We’re not ideal, but we’re not helpless either.” “After the babies are born,” Marcus continued, “things will get more complicated. Newborns are loud and demanding. Divine newborns who are supposed to stay silent for five years?” He shook his head. “That’s going to be an adjustment for all of us. But we’ll figure it out. We always do.”

Morgan asked in surprise. "There's a picnic at her school this weekend and she doesn't want to miss it," said Elmer. "Hi, uncle Alpha Morgan," a shrill voice shouted from the background. "I will be back tomorrow. See you!" Morgan smiled. Mira is the child of Kelly and Elmer, his Beta, who somehow became mate to Kelly, who at that time had just had a miscarriage because of depression after Logan got his punishment. The fetus in Kelly's womb, Logan's child, died at three months of pregnancy and Kelly almost died from loss of blood.
