Okay, so I had to dust off my memory for this one because the Mr. Draven books have been on my shelf for a minute. I'm pretty sure the main love interest across the series is Eleanor Vance. It’s a real slow burn—Draven’s this guarded, cynical detective type, and Eleanor is this fiercely independent historian who keeps getting tangled in his supernatural cases. Their chemistry isn’t in-your-face romantic from the jump; it’s all in the lingering looks, the arguments over obscure lore, and the way he’s low-key protective even when he’s being a jerk.
Some people argue that a character named Lysander, who shows up in the third book, was set up as a potential rival, but that thread kind of fizzles. Honestly, the heart of it is Draven and Eleanor figuring out how to trust each other while dealing with all the monster-of-the-week chaos. The last book I read, 'Mr. Draven and the Silent House', had a moment where he finally calls her by her first name instead of 'Vance', and my romance-starved heart just about gave out. It’s very much a partnership that grows out of shared danger and respect, which I always find more satisfying than insta-love.
