“By now you must all have noticed that we’re welcoming a new staff member here with us. From now on, he will be a part of your higher learning to hone your magic-wielding ability. Professor Kendrick.” He motioned his hand to point at the salt-and-pepper-haired man with rectangular-rimmed glasses, the one whom the girls from earlier were squealing at. Professor Kendrick smiled, showing a flash of brilliant white teeth. “He’ll be your Charms and Relics teacher. And all of you will be meeting him no matter which class you will belong to.”

I’d be willing to bet that they’re from the same pack. “As Eiriana said, my name is Magnus,” the male instructor says as the last of the other students clear away, “and I’m one of the other dark magic teachers here. During your time at the Academy, you’ll learn the arts of combat, espionage, strategy, and negotiation, but the foundation of your studies is dark magic.

Other students began filing in shortly after that. The room filled slowly. Mages mostly, with a few fae and demons mixed in. There were also several varieties of other magical creatures, including a half-troll, and a few half-elves. A rag-tag group, to be sure, but still, it was a start. Coco, Professor Pops, and Snow went out of their way to find great teachers. There was a teacher from each of the seven magics as well as others, like me, for a total of fifteen instructors. Some were only part-time, including Professor Pops, Snow, and Heathcliff, while the rest of us taught permanently. The other adults were already on stage, and I hurried to make my way up.

--- Breakfast Routine The teachers entered last, their commanding presence silencing the chatter in the room. Unlike the students, they wore robes adorned with silver and gold patterns, their designs hinting at their roles. There was Professor Lysander, the stoic combat instructor, whose piercing gaze could freeze a student in their tracks. Next to him stood Mistress Elira, the enchanting but stern teacher of magical history, her aura exuding wisdom. The headmistress, a tall woman with silvery hair and a mirror-like staff, stood at the head of the hall. Headmistress Aeliana was a figure of both reverence and fear, her mere presence enough to command respect.

Kyle said. “Really?" Abigail looked surprised. “Yes." “And who, if I may ask, is this guardian?" She asked, not really looking pleased. Kyle wanted to give her a reply but Nathan took the word off his mouth. “It happens to be one foolish wizard who is a teacher in our school." Nathan said, walking to meet them. “The fool keeps ordering us about as if we are his slaves. We should have killed that idiot a long time ago." “You know very well killing him won't be of much use. We still wouldn't have been able to use humans as a source of food if he was dead." Kyle said.
