The rain poured down his body in sheets, cascading off his tousled hair and soaking his clothes as he held a Glock in his hand, the metal glinting ominously under the fleeting flashes of lightning.

Damian walked straight toward them. “Damian—wait!” Eli started to rise. Damian didn’t turn. “Eli. Trust me.” His voice carried through the corridor—deep, calm, and lethal. Eli froze. The drones opened fire. And Damian moved like a storm unleashed. He wasn’t evading the shots—not exactly. He anticipated them, weaving between the bursts of plasma, striking the drones with precision and violence. A swift kick shattered one; he spun and slammed another into the floor, crushing its metal shell under his boot. Sparks rained around him, lighting his silhouette in flashes of electric blue.

I scream, shoving Alex toward Aria. Drones—not our drones, but sleek, black, insect-like machines—swarm through the broken windows. They have lasers. They start firing. "Defensive protocols!" Echo roars, his avatar expanding to shield the crowd. But the black drones tear through his code like paper. "It's a war," Alex yells, grabbing Kai and Emma. "It's an extermination," I realize, watching a drone vaporize a table. The celebration is over. The revolution is over. The invasion has begun.

"If you don't authorize the new Covenant, there won't be a world left to save. They’ll delete the hardware and start over with a fresh species." Elara looked at the pen, then at the vial of liquid shadow. Beside her, Mia was clutching the notebook….the "Delete" sequence that the drones were hovering for. Her mother, Sarah, stood with the silver shotgun leveled at the drones, though even she knew buckshot couldn't kill a math equation. "If I sign this," Elara rasped, the violet fire in her veins cooling into a heavy, leaden weight. "I’m not just your partner. I’m the Bank itself. I’m the one who decides who lives and who is... liquidated."

The drone’s lens turned a violent, bloody red, and as it self-destructed in a flash of silver sparks, the last thing I heard was the sound of Dante’s mechanical laughter echoing through my own head. My voice is gone. I look up. There’s movement above, shadows, figures. They’re watching. No, they’re waiting. A growl cuts through the air, low and animalistic. My body freezes. I turn slowly and see them: eyes, glowing and hungry. Not human. It steps closer, slow and calculated. I try to move, but my legs won’t respond. “Please…” I whisper. Still no sound.
