"Of course not" Mary said in hurry. "I do not have boyfriend mom" she said shyly. "It seemed like you were so passionate with whoever you were talking to on the phone" her mom said jokingly. Mary wondered how much her mum heard, she wanted to aske her, but it would raise suspicions. So she just let it be. The food was almost done by the time they both went back to the kitchen, Mary and her mom set the table together. Her mom teased her some more about having a boyfriend which as responded to shyly.

Her mom chuckled softly, "I told you to paint someone who makes you happy and I suppose he's the one." She frowned. She hadn't thought about it like that. She hadn't even thought about him when she had been painting but here he was on her canvas. She couldn't deny the fact that he made her happy also. She couldn't even bring herself to be mad at him. "I guess he does make me happy." Her mom frowned, "He's your boyfriend? How come I've never met him?" Her smile darkened into a frown, "He's not my boyfriend, mom."
