She was an independent woman now. Controlling her anger has become impossible these days. She was sure he suspected that she was just pretending to be another woman. Knowing her ex-husband was the CEO, she would have given up on this partnership if it wasn't one of her dreams. But she knew it would take her to places she had been dreaming of. Ellodie wouldn't let Simon make her give up on her dreams. This was just business. Nothing more. The ringing sound of her phone jerked her out of her reverie. With Sydney sleeping on her bed, she quickly grabbed the phone to pick up so Sydney wouldn't wake up from the loud sound.

The stranger behind those messages somehow kept saying things she didn't want to admit to herself. And she hated it…she hated that someone she had never met could see through her so easily because she did miss Adrian. Not the Adrian standing beside Vanessa and not the Adrian who signed divorce papers…not the foolish man that keeps hurting her. She missed her husband. The one who stole food from her plate and like he did nothing afterward…the one who carried her upstairs whenever she fell asleep on the couch, the one who kissed her forehead every morning before work because he insisted it was good luck.

He had waited a long time for five years and he didn't think he could anymore, his patience was running out. "Stacy is my wife, I'll bring her back home." He left the room without any other words. He understood his Father wanted to see Stacy again. They shared a great bond while she was still married to him, it was a Father and daughter bond. Thinking about her, his heart aches, he misses her greatly. Every night, he regretted ever cheating on her, but what was he to do? The deed was already done. She was gone and he was left with Rita and their daughter.

“Was he your previous lover?” Lover? It was I who only loved my ex-husband. He never did that to me. “Lover is such a serious word. But yes. He was once my husband. Ex-husband, to be specific. We already signed the divorce paper. He was the one who wanted to divorce me.” Hawk flinched. “Even after he knew about your son.” I threw my gaze at the window. Tall buildings welcomed my sight, and then I shifted my gaze back at Hawk.

Shaking my head, I banish those thoughts and focus on Gabe. “That’s not all,” he began. “Seriously?” I watch as he struggles to form the words. He then runs his hands down his face before speaking. “She’s also my ex-wife.” “Come again” There was no fucking way I heard him right. “I said that she’s my ex-wife,” he repeated, this time in a lower tone. I can’t count the number of times he has managed to shock me today. I must have hit my head somewhere, because there is no fucking way Gabriel had once been married.

- I angrily shouted loudly. I don't know what the hell my ex-husband is doing, but someone known as his personal secretary, is it really Enzo the husband I know? For five years, he hasn't even once cared about his daughter. It's important he doesn't have money, he doesn't have a job.

One side of my lips pulled to the side. “The woman is my ex-wife. Lydia.” There was a gasp in the hall. Everyone knew we were divorced, although no one knew the details. The reason for our divorce had been kept tightly under wraps. Save for those close to us, only a handful of people knew, and they hadn't said a word about it.

He said, and my hand clenched beside me. “This isn’t any of your business, Mr Steele. This is between me and my wife so mind your fucking business.” I took another step forward. “From the look of things, she is no longer your wife. She’s divorced you, which makes you an ex.” He spat out, and I so badly wanted to punch his pretty face.

He stated making me feel so good. Tears stream down my cheeks. "Can I?" He questioned me, as he brought his hand closer to my cheeks. "Yes! Of course. You are my husband." I mentioned to him, as he then used his thumb to clean off the yeast which was rolling off my cheeks. There is just this thing about him that I cannot explain. Even without his memories, he still has the same personalities. We were in that position for a few minutes, and I just couldn't stop thinking about him

"Who's a stranger to you? I'm Freddie, your—" "Ex-husband," I cut him off, giving him a half-smile as he frowned. I couldn't explain it, but something in his expression softened at my words, almost as if his attitude had shifted.
