🥀 MELONIE'S POV 🥀 I felt the tears welling up inside me, a dam about to burst. I tried to hold them back, to stem the tide of emotions that threatened to overwhelm me. But it was no use. The floodgates opened, and I was consumed by a torrent of grief. I sobbed uncontrollably, my body shaking with each ragged breath. Tears streamed down my face, hot and salty, as I wailed in anguish. I felt like I was drowning in my own sorrow, unable to escape the crushing weight of my emotions.

“It's all my fault. Everything that happened to you is my fault; I should be the one dead. I'll never be happy, I promise to never be happy.” Tears kept streaming down my face, a quiet, soundless waterfall of sorrow. My body shook slightly, but my mouth was clamped shut, stifling any audible sobs. I cried silently, hiding my pain from the world, as if afraid to let others see the depth of my emotions. Each tear that fell was a testament to the weight I carried, a physical manifestation of the grief, hurt, or frustration that had become too much to bear. My eyes, red-rimmed and puffy, were the only giveaway, a window to the storm raging within.

“Elliot…” My eyes filled with tears, blurring the screen. I pressed my fingers to them, wiping at them in vain, but they kept coming. I could not stop them. I did not want to stop them. I wanted to let the fear and guilt spill out. I wanted it to match what I imagined he was feeling somewhere out there, alone and hurting.

I sat on the edge of my bed, my world crumbling around me. Tears streamed down my face, leaving salty trails in their wake. Packing my belongings felt like packing away the shattered remnants of my heart, each item a painful reminder of what I had lost. The door creaked open, and Jen, entered the room. She gasped at the sight of my tear-stained cheeks and rushed to my side, concern etched on her face. Her touch was gentle as she placed a comforting hand on my shoulder.

Tears started to form in my eyes and God knows I am trying hard to stop them from falling. :)

We were face to face, eyes locked, and that's when I noticed the tears falling from his eyes. He was crying.

The scene before me was heartwarming—the easy smiles, the playful interaction, the genuine joy in the simple act of spending time together. I smiled down at them, imaging how we’d spend more days together. I felt a cool sensation on my cheeks, and I went to dab it away, my fingers pulling back with a distinct wetness. Tears were pouring out of my eyes, and I rushed to wipe them away before they blinded me completely.

For a moment, I saw something like relief in her eyes, but then it changed as tears welled up in her eyes. The first thing she did the moment she woke up, was cry.

Something hot. Tears.
