I replied feeling very emotional. “I learnt my lesson, no more disclosing birthday gifts prematurely, this time around I've decided to buy it last minute. Granddad shoots her a smile before raising his glass of water. "I have many things to be thankful for this year—one of those being my health. Earlier this year, I had a scare. I won't go into the finer details, but my doctor was concerned I might have colon cancer. After many prayers and some sleepless nights, all the tests came back negative. So, thank the Lord for another healthy year," Granddad says, and we all take a sip from our glasses.

Grandpa did too, although he tried to hide it. “Twins!” My grandmother hugged me so tightly she almost knocked the breath out of me. “Ayden, my boy! What a blessing!” Grandpa was deeply moved, but he quickly slipped back into his role as patriarch. “May God bless all four of you,” he said, placing his hand over our heads. “And let me tell you something, Ayden… your children are coming at exactly the right time. Everything is fine now. I always told you it would be.”
