Sleeping With The Enemy
I whispered, my voice barely audible
He smirked, leaning back in his chair, “You seem to like pushing my buttons. Just remember, every action has a consequence.”
I swallowed hard, my mind spinning with the implications of his words. The tension between us was almost unbearable, “Maybe you should just let me leave,” my voice bolder than I felt.
I stood up, walking around the table until I was standing right in front of him. He looked up at me, his eyes filled with a mix of amusement and warning. “Chloe, what are you doing?” he asked, his voice low and husky.
I nodded, “I didn’t sleep last night, so I don’t know.”
