“Sorry, I keep forgetting.” I looked up, his beautiful smile was the first thing I saw. I pouted, realizing that I wasn't do good at getting upset with him. Landel Ashwood and I, we were very close back in grade school. We were both being bullied so we had this shared pain and shared interests. I thought we were inseparable until he turned seventeen and his wolf began to change his form. He grew big. Outgrew our friendship it seemed. When the bullies came for me, he didn't nothing. Things never got good with us after that even when he left.

She always does. Moving means another school and having to adjust and face maybe even worse bullying. The crowd was going absolutely wild by then, there were phones everywhere, people shouting and cheering as if this were some kind of Monday Night RAW match instead of a high school cafeteria. So, on one hand, I’m relieved that I don’t have to worry about not having books on my first day of class, but on the other hand, I’m nervous about how Caden might react. Back in high school, when he intentionally broke my laptop and I borrowed his as a replacement, he stormed into my lecture and threw a fit, claiming that I stole his belongings. He even called me a derogatory term in front of the whole class, fully aware that it could get him detention. Well, these days, Caden has upgraded to being a calm, emotionless bully. He no longer screams in my face like he used to. Instead, he launches his attacks with nothing more than a smirk.

The laughter grew louder, kids from other classes started crowding the classroom. He snapped the diary shut when I got closer and looked down at me. “Wanna know why nobody loves you? It's because everyone can smell your desperation.” “That's not true!” I yelled as tears rolled down my cheeks. I knew I was out of their league but how could he be so cruel? I was the one who studied until 3 AM and still only managed A-minuses which in our house was the same as a D. The pressure wasn't just from the schoolwork though. That was the least of it. It was the unfair bullying. It started online as a joke by my loser ex-boyfriend and his jerk friends. They capitalized on things like my anxiety, my tendency to stutter when nervous and my insecurity over my plain face. They made memes out of my school ID picture. They started a hashtag that trended through the whole region for a full week. They called me "The Ghost of the Library."

My voice low, signalling a warning edged with raw fury as I paced around now. I looked back at him. Sharp. “I just became an Elite!! Hey!!” "Cool off, Leon." Hale said, dragging his voice, not getting how tensed I am. I roared. “The funds loss were made known—” “But not the names of the ones who stole it, you asshole!” Hale shouted back. His face flushed dark—red creeping up his neck. His veins all bulged—thick, pulsing ropes. His eyes wild—pupils huge, now mad like me.
