She said and looked into my eyes, her eyes were full of misery and she had dark spots sitting below her eyes. “What happened between us Aunty? I don’t remember much, I honestly didn’t remember you that day.” I say looking back in her eyes wearing a slight frown on my face. “You don’t remember? How come?” She asked me, looking surprised as I expected. “No Aunty, not even your name, I had an accident about two years ago after dad died and I developed selective amnesia as a result, I could only remember him because of my journals, sadly there’s nothing about you in them” I say in the most remorseful tone I could use.

After Sally took a deep breath, she silently clicked on the videos inside the email. The videos were of the children’s past performances in the welfare home. There was a little boy in the videos who had a seemingly permanent reluctant look on his face. He was emotionless whenever he was on stage. The little guy looked cute but had a sense of pretend maturity—much like Sam. Sally looked at the video and inexplicably felt that the little boy seemed somewhat familiar, but she could not remember exactly where she had seen him. After all, she had amnesia and could not even remember who she was.
