I picked up a gun as well before joining him nervously. "Darling, open up!" It was the voice of the male neighbor of the villa across from us. I peeked out through the crack in the window. The neighbor had blood stains all over his clothes. There was even a deep wound on his leg, which showed faint glimpses of his bones. Obviously, the man was already infected with the virus. He'd soon turn into a zombie. "Don't open the door!" I shouted instantly in an attempt to stop the neighbor's wife. Unfortunately, I was too late.

"Nah, probably a neighbor." "Human?" "Hm, it is Hawaii. There's very little of us here." "Let's check it out." Kerry held her boyfriend's hand and pulled him toward the door. If this was indeed a neighbor, then she wanted to make a good first impression. When she unlocked the door, she was met with a familiar face that left her frozen in shock. Red eyes glinted in amusement. "Hey, you must be the new neighbors. I live in the house across from yours. It's nice to meet you." Even his voice sounded the same. Kerry was sure this was no coincidence. The good-looking man standing in front of her was none other than the vampire who had tormented her dreams for weeks.

~Three Days Later~ ~Sunny’s Point of View~ “Mommy, can I ask you something,” I said. “Of course honey, what is it,” she said, brushing my hair. I loved that, it was so relaxing and it almost put me to sleep. “Who is the scary man that is around sometimes, why does he always stare at me,” I asked. “Oh … well sweetie he’s a vampire and he lives here,” she said. “He LIVES here?! Why does he live here, shouldn’t he be with others like him, won’t he hurt us,” I asked, horrified.

Vampires. We scoot up again. Now, I am almost even with the door. Lenny and I have been standing in the line to get bread for nearly two hours. My feet are soaking wet. I’m tired, and I want to get home to my family. Mom really can’t handle my younger brother and sister on her own these days, and my stepfather is at work in the mines. “Sorry, Mildred, but that’s only forty-four vlads.” The baker, Mr. Laslo Black, brother to the mayor, Angus Black, rebukes the old woman who lives next door to me. “I need another vlad.”

I muttered and his eyes darkened. “You successfully killed several high-ranking vampires of my troop. Care to explain how you figured out how to do that? Plus you fired at me four fucking times!” Flabbergasted, I scoffed at him. “I got lucky hitting the vampires and was trying to protect my townspeople and as far as you…You didn't move, rather ignorant on your part,” I spat then added, “I saw you bite off my elderly neighbor's head, very barbaric.” Sighing heavily he growled, “The elderly serve no purpose for me or what I needed to achieve.”

“Where are we going to live now then?!” My eyes widened as I didn't realize that part. Well, in the first place, what I just really wanted him to problem was where to put my corpse if I succeeded earlier. “T-to my a-apartment?” I unsurely said but he just hissed like a snake. Hey! I just want to die! And every time I try, I always fail like a damsel! D*mn! Why? “Don’t make the humans there to be Villix's liability in the future,” he answered as his nostrils flared in rage. “Plus, it's too dangerous for humans to have vampire neighbors. Who knows if one of us will suck their blood at night?”

The vampire nods and smiles. “That is puzzling!” I hear Drake say as I put the phone back to my ear and ask him what is puzzling. “It’s just…well. You are surrounded by vampires who all want to protect you, your neighbor, even a couple on the corner of your street.You have to know that werewolves and vampires usually don’t get along, right?”

This pull is strange, scary but amazing. The problem now is, how do I keep the most stubborn Vampire to ever exist safe without having a fight with her?

Biting back a scream at the sight of him so near me, I didn’t break eye contact in hopes of finding out even a nibble of information about what he did to everyone in my building and what he planned to do next. “I didn’t kill them if that’s what you’re thinking. I only told them to go to bed early and not wake up even if they heard anything.” For some reason, he looked horrified at the thought of hurting my neighbours. “They were nice. It’s the other vampires who weren’t nice, so I killed them.”
