She's Night Carnelian, a human who only wants one thing, justice for her clan. And here's Killix Bane, who only wants to save his sister from his father's grip. One contract will make them meet each other. Is that will be the reason for their success, or will be the reason for their downfall? "Decisions always matter. So be careful, Carnelian."
Lihat lebih banyakWhat's the sense of living? Some will say to achieve our goal, some will say there's none.
And on the two of that, I'm both. I want to achieve my goal, to graduate and have a profession. I want that to be a payback of my clan's sweat and blood to invest such huge money for me to have a great education.
But does it still have sense, if I'm only the one living in our clan?
It's not, then my sense of living is nothing. I'm just forcing myself to graduate for them even though they can't even see my success anymore.
I grabbed the book out of my bag, and place the money I earned between its pages for being a working student. I bit lip, I need to spend it wisely so it can sustain me for months.
And yeah, they did invest huge money only for my education, but for my other necessities, there's none.
I hugged the book from my chest as I departed from my working place.
As I stepped outside, the breeze of the air embraced me and gave me goosebumps. It's almost midnight, and there's only one thing I wanted to do...
But something made me stopped at my track.
Someone just chuckled.
The h*ck?! It's not even Halloween... and d*mn I hate ghosts!
I tighten my embrace on the book as I strode and quicken my pace. My heart was pounding much faster than usual.
As I can't bear the wobbling of my knees anymore, I forced myself to ran, but the chuckle seems like it wants to follow me.
"Twinkle, twinkle, little Night,
I want to hold your neck so tight." Then she chuckled. Her voice was so low that it only ended up as a whisper in my ear.
It made me swallowed my saliva. I roamed my gaze on the dark city but I only saw nothing but the city lights.
And the owner of the chuckle knew my name. I quicken my pace as much I can. But the voice doesn't want to leave me.
"HELP!"
A voice echoed to the whole place.
It made me stopped my track. I furrowed my brows as I looked up at the apex of the building on my side, where the voice of 'help' came.
It's different from the chuckle, the voice radiated fear and terrified.
"HELP!" A girl, a little girl at the apex of the building, she's the one screaming. There's someone on her back, a lady in red with a menacing aura.
I loosen the collar of my uniform. I swallowed the lump on my throat.
The lady in red held the shirt of the little girl and lifted her, intending her to throw out of the rooftop of the building.
I almost passed out!
"S-sh*t wait!" I screamed and ran as fast I can through the entrance of the building.
God knows how much I'm thankful when it's not locked.
I quickly ran to the staircase until I reached the last stair of the two-story building.
I slammed the door of the rooftop and faced the two females. The lady in red still has her menacing aura, but now that I'm near her, I think I already peed myself on my pants!
"H-help me," the little girl's voice was almost inaudible. Her shoulders were going ups and down as she struggled to breath.
"Hm, M-miss, c-calm down," I said even though I can't even calm down. My breathing isn't normal anymore.
The lady in red chuckled. "Twinkle, twinkle, little Night
I want to hold your neck so tight.
Smash your head to the nearest wall,
Until your blood will overflow," the lady sang in a deep voice. She cracked her neck and combed her black hair.
It sent chills down my spine, especially on my neck. I stepped backward, I want to run, but I can't just leave that little girl there.
I also want to die, but not with fear! D*mn it!
I ran through the little girl until I held her hand. The lady just stood there like a statue giving me the momentum to steal the little girl.
I hugged the terrified girl with a book still in my hands. "Ssh, you'll be safe, baby," I said with my most soothing voice, yet I think it only ended as an annoying one again.
My eyes widened as the little girl slowly faced me with a lunatic face. My arms that were hugging her dropped on the mid-air.
Then she laughed like a psycho.
I swallowed the lump on my throat. I tightened the grasp on my book as I struggled to step backward. I fell to the floor as my mouth was still agape.
The little girl formed her hands into a fist, smirked like an evil, and smashed me on my face.
My body's shaken as I almost fell from the building. I wiped out the blood on my mouth.
What was that strength? D*mn, I'm just trying to help and this is what I've got?
I became alert as I struggled to stand. The lady in red together with the little girl walked towards me.
I can feel the loudness of my heart in the deafening silence of the night. Their stomps were getting louder and louder as I struggled more to find the strength on my feet.
They are both smirking.
Wait, I want to die, so why I am afraid?
No! I can't die yet, I still need to seek justice for my clan! I still need to become a lawyer!
Oh sh*t, why do I need to realize all of this now that I'm on the verge of getting killed?
The lady in red bent her body and held my neck so tight. She fixed her stand.
While here I am, trying to free myself from her grasp, but the more I tried, the more she tightened it.
"L-let m-me live." My breathing was heavy. I think my lungs were falling on the bottom of this building.
"I won't," the lady in red said as she smirked. She started to lift me out of the rooftop. Her voice declared a war of emotions inside of me.
"P-please, l-let me... live." The words were too hard to say. My head is aching and my neck, it feels like it's getting sliced, it's getting crashed!
"I told you, I won't," she answered as the moon illuminated her eyes.
I almost passed out when her eyes together with the little girl turn red, they both showed fangs that made my heart skipped a beat.
I screamed at the top of my lungs. "Aah!"
D*mn!
Yet I am getting captivated by her eyes, as she seems to enjoy the moment.
But then she loosed her grip on my neck. I was out of breath. I still tried to cling to her arms but the little girl I want to save kicked me on my head. Letting me fall, wanting my body to be slammed on the surface of the road.
"D*MN!"
And a loud thud was heard.
Night"What have we just entered?" I murmured as we were already in a room. I slowly sat on the edge of a wooden and foamed bed. Silence devoured the place as Kill's sound of breathing was the only thing you can hear. He was still standing beside the door with his head lowered.Kill and I shared the same room, while Ash shared with Ciara.I took all the courage and looked at Kill. I gulped. "I saw single vampires roaming around earlier. I thought you couldn't enter here if you didn't have a mate?" I asked as the scenes earlier entered my mind.He raised his head then slowly walked towards where I am. His eyes were downcasted, as the smile he wore earlier was
NightKillix smiled.HE SMILED!'I told you that don't act on something that can arouse their doubt, but here you are, amazed like it's your first time to see me smile." He paused. "Act like you are my wife,' he grunted yet still kept that smiling face on the outside.'Because it is!' I replied then shook my head as I once again saw the brawny lad in front of me.But why did I seem more carried away by
NightMy head was always lowered to the ground, never wanting to raise it knowing what I had done.I growled. I messed up everything, specifically our house, scratch that! It's Kill's house! So now, we were heading to Damned Town to where Vampires' home is, all because of my foolishness. We can just stay there to our previous house, or maybe rebuild it again, but the Bane siblings insisted that we must leave it already for the sake of our safety as Villix already knew that place.I know that my head already hurts because of too much idleness, but I'll stay with it until the ground is ready to devour me whole.
VillixI was even degraded as the villain of their story when in fact, I am also a victim…But if they do want me to be one, why not give them what they want?Ciara is a closet killer, I bet almost everyone already knew that fact, but what no one knew was that she's also a closet psycho.Meanwhile, Killix was also didn't raised well, a brat who strived to save the woman who killed her mother.Of a thousand times I tried to be good for them, I got nothing good in return. Instead, what I have got is mere insult, betrayal, and death threats.
Villix In life, you will only feel nothing but full of suffering. If you will tell me you felt happiness, then tell me if it hasn't been taken away from you after you felt it. Because as far as I know, life has a law that has been applied to anyone, no exception. If you have something, whether it's an emotion, thing, present, or even a person, this will need to be gone, leaving you only memories with them/it that will make you live in pain. “I'm pooped,” I suddenly mumbled. “Of course you are, Vill,” someone answered from my side
NightLooking at nothing in particular can really be a good wastage of time.I sighed.I never wanted to end my life like this, but right now, I don't have any other choice.I'd rather kill myself than kill someone… than do Killix' plan.I tightly closed my eyes as I already readied the rope and already tangled it in the lumber above. I slowly climbed on the chair and wore the rope like a necklace on my neck.I slowly opened my eyes as I felt the roughness of the rope as it touched my skin. I flinched yet sti
