Helen swept me off my feet when I first saw her. She was my first love but I was left heartbroken when my best friend, Nathan showed me images of her wedding photos. Too bad some shit happened and she died…I choose not to remember what went down that night, years back. But a miniature of her is under my roof. Under my care. My second wife heard a scandal about me and my secretary which wasn’t exactly true. I wasn’t dicking my secretary then. I don’t know who recorded her making advances towards me.

In the corridor, she saw her husband and father-in-law standing together in a quiet conversation. Their faces were tense, their voices low but sharp. She crept closer, heart racing—and what she heard made her world collapse. They were discussing her husband’s second marriage. It had only been a week since their wedding… and they were already planning to bring him a second wife?

She's heard how much her mother told her about how marriage works but she didn't bother paying heeds and here she is. She can't believe she is going to welcome another woman in just three days. She doesn't want those days to come, not when her family is now complete and beautiful with her daughter and husband. Not when everything is finally getting back in place though her life is tumbling upsidedown very soon. Why does it hurt so much when another woman is getting your man? She thought those friends of hers that fill in the space of second wives are happy but she can't and won't be a second wife. She can't see herself sharing her husband purposely knowing she is the second one not the first

It gave Jennifer an uneasy feeling and caused her to lower her eyes. "Yes, I am." "I am Nicholas. The eldest of all. And this is my wife, Susan." He turned to his wife. "This is Jennifer, Elijah's new wife." Susan smiled and hugged her warmly, before taking her seat. The second brother had a completely different vibe, however. And his wife too. She looked spectacularly rich, and had a condescending look. "What is your name?" She asked, even before they did the normal introductions. "Jennifer." She answered quickly, her eyes on her threatening to throw her over the edge.

Raina snapped, "You can't marry Elara!" I raised an eyebrow, a mocking laugh slipping from my lips. "And who exactly are you to say that?" "Your wife!" Raina shot back. "In our previous life, we were happy! We had a perfect family! Everyone envied us! We were the couple people couldn't stop talking about!" She'd finally said it out loud—the secret that she had come back in time too. I burst out laughing, as if I'd just heard the biggest joke of my life.

But in reality, he was loving how his nephew was seething after knowing the woman he threw out of his life was sitting within reach yet out of reach. “Why don’t we talk about you and your husband first?” Liam suggested casually. “I heard you’re the second wife… he married someone before you?” Selena paled. Not now. She hadn't expected Liam to say such words. She cleared her throat, forcing the words out. “Oh, that? That was six years ago, before my husband and I even met.” Liam’s smile was faintly skeptical as he glanced at her. “It was done, huh?” he murmured to himself. “Oh yeah… the same person whose face is exactly like my wife, right?”

“So that’s not new to me.” I took another bite, and honestly, the flavors just kept exploding in my mouth every single time. I leaned back a little to savor it more, letting the warmth of the meal settle in my chest. The maids really needed to learn how to make my steaks this way; this was on a different level. “Speaking of the role of a wife,” she said, drawing my attention back to her. “Mhm?” I looked at her. “I’ve always been hearing ‘your ex-wife, your ex-wife,’ but I never got to know about that part of your life,” she said.

"May your wish come true." She smirked and cast a pitiful glance at my stomach. "I heard you fell ill on your wedding night. Was it from the shock of your groom fleeing? "That's tragic… What kind of husband refuses his wife in bed? You may as well give up on having a baby of your own." With a soft groan, she lowered herself into the chair with one hand resting on her abdomen. "Oh, but my back's been aching all day. Do you think I might be expecting already?"

Natalie was stunned for a while before she questioned him back in disbelief, “You don’t even want to marry me. If people were to know, you will be a second-hand man in the future, do you think is ideal?” “Ideal or not, it’s already a fact and there’s nothing to be mindful about. Also…” The frigid man paused before he continued, “Only a second-hand man might be suitable for her.” That person had been married a second time. So, it would not matter even if he married a second time too, right?
