ECHOES OF THE PAST
I extended my own perception, searching for thoughts I could read to understand what we were facing.
What I found made my blood run cold: minds that felt similar to the corrupted hunters we'd fought months ago, but different somehow, more artificial, less human than even those enslaved resurrections had been.
"They're not naturally resurrected," I said, grabbing the tactical vest Damian tossed to me. "But they're not entirely normal human either. Something in between, artificial enhancement without true resurrection."
"Richard's perfected the replication process," Damian concluded, moving toward the stairs with supernatural speed.
