The Wife He Loves to Hate
"You're embarrassed! Big bad corporate CEO Lee-Lee was attached to a plastic dinosaur!"
He let out a heavy groan, covering his face with one hand. "Please, for the love of God, stop calling me Lee-Lee."
"Never," I grinned, dangling the T-Rex in front of his nose. "Lee-Lee and his little guard dinosaur."
"I hate you," he muttered, though there was no real bite to his voice.
I smiled, the response coming out without a second thought. "No, you don't."
The words slipped out so naturally, so effortlessly, that both of us froze. The laughter in the room died down, replaced by a sudden, heavy stillness.
