Stories by Irene

Cliques had been established already and I couldn't break in . At first, the other kids weren't always mean . They didn't call me names . They didn't bully me . It all started to get worse in the month of November when Ms. Adams , my teacher asked us to write about our favorite thing in the world . I wrote my favorite thing to be the ability to see the midnight black sky with the shinny stars . It was a whole three page essay mixed with lots of emotions but the other kids considered it nonsense . While the teacher read my essay to the class they laughed out loud pointing fingers at me .

TRAPPED BETWEEN HIM AND WANT

TRAPPED BETWEEN HIM AND WANT

he whispered. I swallowed hard, tore the edge carefully, and unfolded the slightly wrinkled paper. --- To my dearest Summer, If you are reading this, it means I am no longer beside you. Please don’t cry, my love. I have lived long enough to see the light you bring into every corner of my world. That’s more than enough for a mother like me. There is something I never told you, not because I wanted to lie, but because I wanted you to live freely, away from the shadows I once knew.

FAKE—DATING MY CHILDHOOD RIVAL.

FAKE—DATING MY CHILDHOOD RIVAL.

I rolled my eyes, massaging my forehead that was starting to ache before responding. “Yes, he was my rival and enemy. But that was years ago before we got to know each other and fell in love. And it was in eighth grade, not third." Silence fell for the next few minutes as we just looked at each other. Clarissa entered the room, her lips curled into a sneer, trying to join a conversation she clearly wasn’t part of. “You’re making a big mistake, Summer,” I stared irritably when she said that, my face scrunched up as she approached, supporting my mother who had returned to her dramatic state. “Alessandro is heartbroken right now.”

Summer Love Is Just For Summer

Summer Love Is Just For Summer

Summer Love. I didn't think the summer part mattered. Sure we did fall in love during the summer. That doesn't mean I didn't expect it to last past that. It didn't matter to me that he was Nathan Kalis's school-bad boy. To me, he was just Nathan. The man couldn't go more than ten minutes before demanding a kiss. Who always wanted me to cuddle into him. And who loved listening to me read my books out loud.

The Goodbye I Needed

The Goodbye I Needed

I just shrugged. "Then forget about Summer's opportunity." Mom and Dad were quiet, looking at each other with doubt in their eyes. After a moment, Dad made up his mind and said, "Deal!" Summer's face lit up with happiness. On the other hand, I was crushed. My own parents had chosen her over me again. Summer wore the shirt with my blood on it to interviews with lots of reporters. The Werewolf Performance Association loved her 'brave' story and gave her lots of roles as a strong, independent heroine.

Off Limits: Playing With Fire (Short Stories Collection)

Off Limits: Playing With Fire (Short Stories Collection)

One unforgettable summer had taught us how to stay. Some love stories begin with sparks. Ours began with years of waiting, quiet persistence, and one extraordinary summer that changed everything. And this time, we knew we were exactly where we were meant to be. The End.

let's Stay Lonely Together

let's Stay Lonely Together

-first hangout outside school. She was right we've only been friends for a little while but I was more than ready to tell her my whole life story. Love really does mess people up. Love is a strong word though, like is more like it. After that the night got better as we talked about the events of the night and stories that had been left halfway during our school lunchtime. It was all gasps and laughs until we reached Summer's house. At this point all my nerves were out the door and I was beaming with the absolute joy that Summer always seemed to give me. I couldn't help but wish this night would last a little longer.

Where The Summer Wind Blows (book One)

Where The Summer Wind Blows (book One)

Gavin slid in across from me, our knees brushing under the table, and I caught myself smiling at the little contact. “So,” he started, stirring his coffee, “remember that summer when we tried to build that… what was it… a raft?” He wiggled his eyebrows, clearly enjoying my reaction before I even responded. I laughed softly, rolling my eyes. “Oh my gosh, yes. And it sank in, like, five minutes. You got all dramatic, yelling that we were going to drown.” “I was dramatic because it was a life-or-death situation!” Gavin shot back, mock serious, and I snorted.

Let’s Divorce. Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice.

Let’s Divorce. Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice.

A man like Frank did not deserve it at all. … After a full day of exhaustion, Summer did not know how she managed to swallow that dry, hard bun. Nor did she know how she forced down that bowl of cold water. By the time she returned to the basement, Dora, Fiona, and Mrs. Mendes had already gone back. The instant Summer stepped inside, a basin of water was dumped over her head. Splash. She had been outside on the phone with Frank for a long time, and the cold wind had already drained every bit of warmth from her body.

I am enjoying the book so far just started it. But if I were to play a drinking game for every time it is mentioned that Stella is an orphan I’d be long dead. Seriously we get it she was an orphan with no parents etc etc

WARNING..DON’T EVEN START READING IT!! The first few chapters are good, but then the author loses the plot, making the story go around in circles with no forward movement and dragging it out with unnecessary scenes. 5 stars are for it being the most boring story

Tasting Summer

Tasting Summer

I’d rather die than live without her. I shifted and went for a run. A run would take the load off my shoulders, and I didn’t have the courage to have the conversation with Summer. She would kick my ass but I wouldn’t change my mind. I ended up spending hours out there. I smelt a foreign scent and spent more time tracking it. Ultimately, my efforts to locate the foreign scent were fruitless. I decided to return to the cabin when the afternoon sun hung heavy on my head. I found Summer sitting on the porch with her head in her hands and her elbows on her thighs. She wore a short blue dress, and her soft wavy hair blew in the wind. I felt like dick. I left her alone all day.
